He's a terrific acoustic player, personally, he suffers what a lot of great acoustic players do on electric, he just doesn't make it sing. He always sounds like he just bought a new pedal board and hasn't found the good sounds on it yet.
@gottslavey I agree, that love for what you are doing is very important, but i belive, professionals can love what they do too... Sting for example loves what he does. On his "All this time" DVD he says music has "never been work to him - although it's hard work"
But still I agree with a bit, because there a some amateurs better then professionals I think.
Please tell me this is just a teaser and that there is a full interview somewhere. He touches on some really good points and then there's an edit. lol
So true. (^_^) Any one that viewed this edit job that is not familiar with DM might get the impression that he was really eccentric or a little batty.
Usually musicians don't like to talk about it like this. It is refreshing to hear him discuss his playing. Looks sort of like Heath Ledger. I am a real fan of his playing and I love Roxanne when he is playing it for Sting.
Such a down to earth and inspiring chap! I would give my right nut to play guitar with him. Sting would have to play bass too tho if i'm to justify the loss of a tezzie but I reckon it would be worth it.
that was useful thanks, except where you cut repeatedly mid-flow----which i guess is supposed to drive me to ur site but only succeeds in irritating, frankly.
I've been waiting forever to be able to buy this video!! When can I do that?

Apparently, Dom was so worthy of mention, they had to put him up twice on the behindthenotes homepage.

in my opinion the amateur can do better than the professional since the first is doing it by love and the second for money...
and I think also that speaking much in interviews brings false ideas

he´s a great musician. but i don´t like jazz melodies. they seem to be unfullfilled, kind of empty, no real structure.
