  • Svo ánægð að vera íslensk :) svo fallegt land <3

  • wow - really beautiful! thanks for sharing your trip with us

  • @MagicalSunrise1984 I'm glad you enjoyed it. ^^

  • geography is really sexy

  • a SEXY place. with a SEXY voice. ahhh. muscular lesbians.

  • A warm summer in Iceland is still only in the low seventies usually, the ones here are in the nineties or triple digits. I wish I lived in Iceland...

  • Hello

    This guy sounds boring !

    I can fall asleep !

  • iceland <3

  • sincere video, good job

  • 0:24 .. Totally wrong ;) Its just a crack caused by.. belive it or not, a Volcano eruption!

  • beautiful country.....I will go Iceland next month and I´m so excited...

    long live Iceland !!

    greetings from south Spain. ^^

  • @gaditanogadi You chose a good time to visit. I'm in Iceland right now and the weather is great! Enjoy your trip! ^^

  • why wouldnt people plant trees over iceland?

-trees that are suitable to the weather or something?

  • @love1another1evol Oh, they are. It is just not going to happen overnight.

  • i live in iceland on selfoss.you can see a mountain out of the window

  • What a lovely video, looks like you had a fantastic time. I have been thinking of travelling to Iceland for a hiking trip for a while and this video has certainly inspired me to speed up my plans!

  • well i live in iceland and it should not be called iceland cos its not wery cold just in the winter its cold and it can be frikin hot there when the summer comes andi love my country also and proud

  • @RGBRYN Maybe it's a marketing trick, because Iceland sounds way cooler than "Kinda-cold-in-winter-land". And don't even get me started on Greenland... ^^

  • @AericWinter well a viking named Ingólfur Arnarsson named it iceland when he landed and there was winter when he came but iceland should be called greenland instead and greenland iceland :P

  • @RGBRYN youre so lucky to live there. My country sucks..

  • you made me cry of those beautiful waterfalls! I'm going to Iceland in july :)

  • @alfaomegaiota if you go to Gullfoss and Geysir i would suggest stopping in Laugarvatn a small town but it is amazing to hike up Stóragil in the mountain there

  • what is the name of the music in this vid' ?

  • @Aterkomsten It's Skye Cuilin by Kevin McLeod

  • u went to iceland in the winter ofc nobody is at the beach. in the summer its hot here and the beach is FULL of people

  • @MrMMABoy hahaha nei

  • Excuse me for being a bit rude in applying so directly to you but I must get answers to my doubts. Many people claim that Iceland is a stunning destination with unearthly landscapes not to be encountered anywhere in the world. However, when I look at photos taken of Icenadic views, I do not get the impression there is anything to boast of . Well, there is some undeniable beauty but I think there are other countries in the far east and Europe which far exceed Iceland by beauty. So what's therush.

  • hahahaha 3-4 trees

  • a beautyful country. once you were there you fall in love with it.

  • Thanks..Enjoyed

  • i was in iceland amazing video

  • awesome vid dude! thank you!

any suggestions on what i should not miss out? i am there for 3 weeks from march 30th! i am getting damp with excitement....

  • @drew2pac Well, the golden Circle Route is always a good place to start (Thingvellir, Gulfoss, and Geysir, among others). The black sands of the South are supposed to be beautiful and a ride on an icelandic horse can be quite fun.

  • @AericWinter thank you for the reply :-)

  • @AericWinter

I am not joking! Buy a ticket and fly again to Iceland, drive to Vestfirðir, go to Barðarströnd and keep driving left from there! It is so AMAZING! It is a completely different place and you will be blown away by the sights and the cliffs. In my opinion it is much more beautiful than Thingvellir, Gullfoss and Geysir combined!

  • i dont know who invented this fairytale, but it's not true that there are no trees in iceland. i saw hundreds of trees, especially in the warmer north around akureyri. climate change makes it possible.

  • @sputo77 I was just exaggerating. Of course there are trees in Iceland. But believe you me, in comparison to Germany, your landscape is quite treeless, especially when you're not in the North.

  • @sputo77 Iceland used to be covered in forests, but no-one is quite sure what happened. There are some forests around but they are small. The birch is the tree that you usually see. The North of Iceland is NOT warmer, the mildest part of the island is the south west & south (as you'd expect) although Akureyri does have large clumps of trees. And the blue lagoon is man-made.

  • @MrEurocat The blue lagoon is not entirely man made! just man made it better :D

  • @MrEurocat

Iceland was once covered in trees but they were really small like bushes. There were no pine trees or anything like that. The reason for the few trees is that the Icelandic settlers used them all for firewood and it is really difficult for them to grow back because of the bad soil and the sheep keep destroying the ones that are growing.

Also the Blue Lagoon isn't entirely man-made. They didn't dig a hole and filled it with hot blue water, you know

  • @Frizzi95 Iceland centuries ago was covered in forests, its documented as such. Not small trees as you say. The Blue lagoon is a by-product of the geothermal power plant next to it. It pumps superheated water up from the ground to operate generators & then pumps the water to the nearby lagoon, where it is replaced every 2 days - Id say that is MAN MADE!

  • @MrEurocat

It was covered in forests but you can hardly call it a forest. The settlers needed ALOT of firewood to survive. Go to Þingvellir and lookk at the trees there. That is a perfect example of how trees were back then. (But don't count the pine trees because they are planted by humans) Also i am Icelandic so i really doubt that you know really more than i do. Your probably right about the lagoon though. Its like 80% man made.

  • @Frizzi95 "Also i am Icelandic so i really doubt that you know really more than i do" - well you didnt know very much about the BLue Lagoon........

  • @sputo77

It's not a fairytale. I mean, there are trees in Iceland but they are so few. About 0.1% of Iceland has trees. And it's not the climate that is the reason for no trees, it's because Icelandic soil is so young.

  • @Frizzi95 whuut? no it's because the sheep destroyed all our trees icelandic soil is not young

  • @Unagurka

Actually it's because of the soil. The settlers who came to Iceland used the all small bushes (kjarr) as firewood and it is very difficult for the trees to grow back because of the soil AND the fact that the sheep keep destroying the young plants.

  • Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Hope you come back one day. ;-)

  • I noticed you said fracking, you watch BSG ?

  • @blaa94 Oh yes, I love BSG!

  • I like your video and I like your comments, too! I´ve been to those places only three weeks ago and it´s interesting to see what they´re like in winter!!

  • Beautiful video...i'm going next week 4 the first time to Iceland. Like the music you've used and the way you've talked...slow, clear and with humor. Like it. I'm exited to go and to enjoy this pure nature. Kind regards from Amsterdam

  • @awannda33 Thank you for your kind words. Say hello to Iceland from me. ^^

  • loved it! :)

  • are you mentally retarded? your comments on iceland´s nature is really weird

  • @supergladiator12 I am sorry you feel that way.

Reading through the other comments, you seem to be in the minority.

Let me assure you that I did not trown any soap into your gylur and in no way wish to destroyed your beautiful landscape. Don't give upp on us just yet, turiststs are a good source of hard currency for Iceland in these hard times.

  • @AericWinter That guy does not speak for us, he's being an idiot and therefore is indeed in the minority. ;) On another topic: I hope you enjoyed your stay here and visit again soon.

  • @TraustiGeir I enjoyed my stay immensely and will definitely be back. ^^

  • Brillant Video. I was in Iceland when I was 8 yrs old. Beautiful Country. very expensive country.

  • @Raidk You are *so* right about that. Try to buy a cocktail when going out and you're broke for a week.

  • @Raidk Well.. not so expensive anymore ;)

  • Das ist schön!

  • awesome

  • Wow that was great, thanks

  • oh, and excellent video. You took the time to actually see things, and not blip through them. Great quality as well. Thank you very much.

  • Iceland is my favorite place on this planet, no where in this world can you find anything like it. I am moving there in 2011, so excited.

  • @haxsys Nice. (=

Which corner of Iceland are you moving to?

  • @haxsys i live in iceland dude if you have money then you are ok but we in iceland are in a money crysis iceland dosent have so much money!!

  • @haxsys I hope you have a wonderful time :) It's lovely.

  • @haxsys are you here yet?

  • @Brutalbanani Sadly, no, not yet. I injured my ankle pretty badly, has postponed getting there.

  • Nice video but maybe to conventional. Do you work for Icelandair or some tour operators ?

Blue Lagoon, Gulföss, Geysir can't be ignored but there's a lot of other hidden treasures to discover in the wilderness. Anyway seing this video was a pleasant flashback of my trip in the 8th wonder of the world few years ago.

  • @vedorje You're right, travelling the Golden Circle route is very conventional. But it was my first time in Iceland and those sights simply cannot be ignored. I plan to see more of the country on future visits.

Also, I am just one private person sharing his experiences. I don't work for tour operators or airlines or somesuch. This video is mostly for friends and family. (c:

  • This is a really beautiful video. Well done. I would kill to go.

  • Iceland is a very nice country.

  • Hello very nice video, beautiful as it is called the song in the background?

  • @dominedeuscuius Skye Cuilin by Kevin McLeod. Music and additional information are included in the video description. ^^

  • you obviously just travalled the "classic goto" places in iceland since you did'nt see any trees.. there are woods and other cool stuff that didnt get to be in your video.. also, iceland in the summer is AMAZING

  • @bjarniplaya Well, it was my first time. I've been back in the summer, and it was amazing! We went north to Akureyri, Husavik and the like.

It won't have been the last time, either. I am always grateful for tips on where to go and what to see. (c:

  • i am fom iceland and i live in Aðaldalur and it is so amazing when the Norðurljósin comes !

  • I was in Iceland last summer and saw the places in your vid by my own: it was just awesome.

One place you have to visit on your next tour is the glacial lake Jökulsárlón!

About the Blue Lagoon: actually it's waste water from the nearby geothermal facility and it's blue because of the silicic acid

  • That's right, you pass the geothermal facility on your way there from the highway. I don't care, it's still healthy and wonderful to look at. It's no skin off my back. ^^

  • i live in icland and it ruls

  • @iclandicice I bet. My girlfriend is also iclandic and she totally ruls.

  • Thanks, but I don't smoke.

  • HAHA

  • This was amazing! Thanks!

What made you decide to travel to island?

  • @sprichbeeke Mainly, Dinzla. (c;

  • nice video friend!!

  • Great video, I´m an Iceland Guide and I just stumbled on your video. Good videos, interesting narrating (mind the spelling) and all in all well done.

    Respect.

  • is Dinzla your girlfriend btw?

  • She is now. ^_^

  • Awesome vid!! I want to go soon!

  • Hey Aeric!...Long time no see...I m just trying to catch up with on youtube...thought I would drop in! ...This is great...you did an awesome job and made Iceland look beautiful. Hope all is going well in your world..Hugs , Bree

  • Dost mine eyes deceive me? You're back! Where TF have you been, Bree? *hugs*

  • haha..Had to work in the real world for awhile!..But, Im back and hoping to catch up with some of the old gang!..>Great to see you as always!...HUGS!

  • Great video. I hope to visit Iceland sometime. The music seems very fitting, and the way you speak very laid-back-like is not as bothersome as I thought. Actually, it kinda suits the song. And I love your little comments ^^

    Iceland is so perfect...

  • Thank you.

When I made this video, I was undecided whether I should narrate or let the pictures speak for themselves.

In the end, I decided to say something, because there are things I found out about Iceland that weren't documented on film. I'm glad you thought it fitting. ^^

  • That was fun. Really like your approach and how you narrate.

  • Oh, thank you very much.

When making a travel video I always walk a fine line between just letting the pictures speak for itself and giving some background info and describing my own impressions. It's not always easy.

  • Just found your video. It's really good! I've been there that august and want to go back soon. very impressive country. And I've just seen some parts of the southwest /west. there is so much to dicover on iceland!

  • Yes there is. I've been around the Southwestern area first, then went around West and up North to Husavík the second time around. Next time, I'd want to see the giant glacier in the Southeast or the fjords of the Northwest.

    What are your next plans.

  • I'm planning to stay in Akureyri next time and to visit Mývatn, some ... "fosses" (Goðafoss for example), Grimsey island and - depending on how long i will stay there neyt time - the fjords on the Northwest too.

  • Great plan.

A warning about Myvatn. Plan plenty of time to get there if you're coming by car. The road there is medieval.

  • loved the video, music and narration!

  • iceland rocks

  • i would love to visit iceland, you are lucky there is no muslim population there. it probably won't be long though. they are like locust eating their way through europe destroying everything in their path

  • Very tolerant of you.

  • thank you, i try.

  • actually there is a very small muslim population

  • nice video. i want to go to iceland, too!!!

and i'm dreaming of swimming in one of the hot sources there

  • Narration, background music, editing and scences are excellent. I go Iceland every year, this takes me back virtually. Great stuff. tak.

  • Ekkert mál. (=

  • Beautiful! I'm going in December :)

  • Where to in Iceland?

  • Akureyri

  • Unusual month to go visit Iceland's north. So how was it?

  • muy bello video ! megustaria ir algun dia pero soy de mexico y esta lejisimos

  • I really want to go to Iceland. It looks so beutifull there. I'm norwegian, so luckily it's not too far away :) Hope to go there someday!

  • Very beautiful, serene and thoughtful. Thanks for sharing!

  • Damn, when it goes of, the first time.. WOW.

    Love your vids :)

  • Why do you people always make videos about Iceland when It's snowing? Iceland Isn't always cold and windy and It's not always snowing, but great video.Iceland Is a beautiful country

  • Don't blame me. I was only there for ten days and it snowed every single day!

So maybe the question isn't why do we people always make video when it's snowing but rather why is it always snowing when we make videos about Iceland?

  • this is the best vid about iceland ive seen.

  • In fact there *are* trees on Iceland, and small forests of dwarf pinetrees on the most sunny sides of the hills.

To see them, you should take national ring road 1. It's worth the trip!

  • Yes, of course there are trees on Iceland. But here in Germany, I am surrounded by trees no matter where I go, without taking a road anywhere.

So you can see how different that
