Today this video has over 22k views, a Yoba man tries to impress me with 2 "Yoba" (Yoruba for short) videos. The 1st one has 9k views, the 2nd one has 5k views, from a tribe of 50M I'm far from impressed.
You call us minority tribe, but u will always pop into seek the truth. Bendalites have no interest in going on the Yoba sites, not just because it is impossible to find ur history on youtube, but the simple fact that the truth is here for the world to see!
by the way fizi247, i know bendelites went to school and university with them, and worked with them in Nigeria. unlike you , i live with AFRICANS YOU DONT. you read books about us, identify with certain tribes and try to use that to beat others about the head the way the whiteman has done to you in the west indies.. SORRY , you picked the wrong victims lol! no yoruba man or woman will ever , acknowlege that crap and YOU KNOW ,THIS SO STOP FRONTING
and the fact that YOU FEEL THAT WHITE AND BRITISH ACKNOWLEGMENT OF BINI CULTURE is the key to me dismissing your claims says it all.. A SLAVE MIND IS ONE THAT IS INGRAINED AND DIFFICULT TO OVERCOME.. its all about white people ..lol!! by the way there is a museum in london called "THE MUSUEM OF MANKIND" the home a a REPLICA YORUBA VILLAGE.. its located in PICCADILLY and has been there for yrs.!!lol! what an idiot.. !!!
I've no doubt that u are trying to desperately identitfy ur true roots, & I speak here on behalf of all da Bendalites! We welcome u to the Benin Kingdom, ur ancestral home. Type in the Yoruba Kingdom, type in Oba on youtube and it brings u to ur roots! Remember da Jews & Arabs are cousins and I'll tell u again, that we Benin as small as u like to think we are, are ur Uncles!
Learn the true meaning of lle-Ife from an Edo man!

swagger jacker keep playing that fiddle while rome burns... you need to go back to the plantation your ancestors were sent to in the west indies and stop fornicating on the africa boards... irie!!
When I here ur comments, I smile & pity u. A lost soul who is trying to find his true roots but can not come to terms with all the evidence & the facts that is presented to him.
When you laugh at Benin, you only laugh at urself. To laugh at ur own father is to put a curse on ur own head, as ur next generation will also deny any links to ur own tribe. It burns u to see how the British acknowledge the ppl of Benin/Dahomey & not da Yoba's. U lack wisdom, my broda I shall waste no more time on u!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
now, why dont you put your money where your "yoba" mouth is and go on the yoruba boards and preach???lol!! as for my i have no time for you cos its obvious you are here beating a drum that no yoruba man or woman has any interest in listening to .. look around how many of us even bother or care to give a damn about your opinion???. "lack of wisdom .."mmmm sounds like typical west indian "African speak" ... when they think they are being "native". give it a rest.. olodo rapata ore eran lo mo je
Oluwalogbon58. While it burns u to believe that u do actually come from the Bendelites, just remember that as much as white ppl hate Niggas, they to come from blacks. When u try to find out ur ancestry, no matter which way u turn, it will always divert u to the Benin Kingdom, ur ancestral Kingdom.
Mordern day Nigeria was not called Benin Kingdom/Dahomey for nothing my broda! History will confirm that. Lagos was not called Ecko for nothing, history will confirm that to!
Across the globe, European scientists, Asian & Chinese scientists have confirmed that it was the blacks who were the 1st not only to inhabit most parts of the continent, but European ppl, Asian & Middle Eastern ppl all originated from the black race. See BBC documentary "Incredible Human Journey". I would like for your tribe to do a DNA test to confirm ur findings!
Let it go, & remember, u must never raise ur left hand to point at ur fathers hse! Benin the father, Yoba's the son!!
Yoba's is abbrev for Yorubas my friend, as Bini is ur abbrev for Bendalites! You'd be da 1st Yoba to confirm that they originate from Egypt as most stop at IIe Ife or suggest that they just beamed down from the skies!
Well ur on the right track, cos as Nigerians we came via Egypt, Ethiopia, Somalia, Israel etc b4 settling in wot is now known as Nigeria. FORMERLY THE GREAT KINGDOM OF BENIN, and Dahomey!!!
I've no time to argue, as my facts spk for themselves.
yoruba people do not origin from benin or the bini people .. but your egos continue to claim what you dont have. i was talking to someone about this and apparently its something that bini people continue to fantasize about and continue to perpetuate.... we dont come from you and dont owe you lot anything.. stop that crap fizi247, yoruba people travelled far and wide.. if you want proof of that , our culture is celebrated in south america and beyond.. not yours.
looks like you are a west indian anyway fizi247 and you are fighting for the bini people because you identify with them still you are in no position to tell anyone from africa who they are..; go and do a dna test to find out where your own forefathers originated from before you start talking.. am out ...
That shows how little you know Oluwalogbon58. Benin ppl will always be fighters, as we are da true warriors of Nigeria. Just go to Edo State/Delta State today and try to preach ur crap u'll learn very fast!
Commonsense will tell u da truth, ur ignorance will make u to believe that we have to fantasize. Yoba's are celebrated in Trinidad, Puerto Rico, Cuba & Brazil even as far as NZ which is true!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
just come to ile-ife my home town and preach your ignorant rants i was talking to someone about this and he couldnt stop laughing.. swagger jacker.. go back to the carribean my friend and teach and preach your people to take education seriously in the uk and stop all this gang warfare in a land they have no stake in...
That will not be necessary, the fact that you even came to the "Oba of Benin" site on Youtube, was to find the truth. You keep talking ur shit about West Indies, but you dont know that my Parents are Afenmai in Edo State Nigeria & the bloodline is thick.
Your like the Ijebu's, they know they are descendants of Benin, but that want to act like Yoba's!
You can laugh till you cry, but just remember the title of Oba in Benin is thru inheritance, it can never be bought as done in ur tribe!
In Jamaica St Elizabeth, u have a place called Accompong. Named after da gr8 warrior brothers led by Cudjoe, Nana, Kofi who descend from the Ashanti tribe also affilated to da Twi tribe & their roots can be traced back to Somalia. A place called Ashanti existed on the Ancient map of Somalia! The ppl of Hati trace their roots back to Dahomey. Study the bible, Beninu, Tola, Bunnni (Bunmi), Izri where all Levites. In short, we all come from somewhere & Yoba's originate from Benin Love it /H8 it!!
your trying to say the yoruba nation is a sub-culture of benin when its not true and am not the only one on here who doesnt agree with you but if you want to claim the yorubas owe you as a bendelite some sort of ancestral alegience go ahead, but get in line along with those claiming we yorubas are EGYPTIAN and OLEMECS!!... god almighty ..give it A REST ..
• Omo9ja -The historical date of birth of Oduduwa would first establish the begining of the Yoruba tribe. Who were Oduduwa wives? Where did he get his (wives) from? Who were Oduduwa political or social contact beyond Benins? Remember the first recorded Oba of Benin dates back to the 14th cen, the 1st recorded Yoruba Oba dates back to 17th cen!
fizi247, you are right. I know this story, my father was a chief in bini and mom is from Oba family. She also told us these stories about Oduduwa. Just the same like what you wrote here! Long live the king Oba of bini
Omo9ja - Once again, I've no idea why or even heard of the "court language of Benin, being spoken in Yoruba". What I do know, is that the Yoruba language became a common language amongst settlers in Eko (Now Lagos) which means camp in Edo Language. It was forbidden for non Edo people to speak to Oba's language, and he encouraged the use of other dialects from the tribes he conquered!
BENIN wasn't a Kingdom in acient times, it was an empire extending from OKAH and ONITSHA in recent Anambra state, all through the DELTA and EDO regions to the recent day BENIN Republic via many of the recent day ONDO, southern part of OGUN and the whole of LAGOS states. Nevertheless, these places have been lost to the Igbos (in the east) and the Yorubas (in the west) due to inter marriages and occupations. Many thanks (rather blames) to the British colony. The king of Benin is often paid homages
A significant breakthrough in underlining the true facts about the Benin Kingdom. Yoruba's originate from Benin, the same way that Jamaicans originate from Ghana! Ignorance is a disease Education is the cure!
I've never heard of the Oba of Benin's head being traditionally sent to Ife, however the name Ile-Ife is actually a Benin word meaning, "I escaped successfully". With reference to your comment, one can only assume that the Oba whose head was alledged to have been sent to Ile-Ife was actually looking for his son before he died. The son being "Ekaladeran" who escaped from the Ogiso palace in Benin City!
Bloody British, stolen our artifact now they making money out of it. The problem is lack of co-operation between the Binis. we should be fighting to get it back. it seems we the Binis lost our way, Is never too late people we can do it if we try. Bini empire the great.
Somebody has to start the movement, my dear friend! But be careful your own brother doesn't kill you once some people in high places, like the Manchester Museum, or your own government, decide that you're becoming a nuissance, and pay him off to get rid of you!
god knows. the british have stolen artifacts from all the countries they occupied as colonists or fought with.. ask the greeks they are still trying to get back their statues..!!
dey look like Yoruba from Nigeria.
