Today this video has over 22k views, a Yoba man tries to impress me with 2 "Yoba" (Yoruba for short) videos. The 1st one has 9k views, the 2nd one has 5k views, from a tribe of 50M I'm far from impressed.

You call us minority tribe, but u will always pop into seek the truth. Bendalites have no interest in going on the Yoba sites, not just because it is impossible to find ur history on youtube, but the simple fact that the truth is here for the world to see!

Omo9ja - Once again, I've no idea why or even heard of the "court language of Benin, being spoken in Yoruba". What I do know, is that the Yoruba language became a common language amongst settlers in Eko (Now Lagos) which means camp in Edo Language. It was forbidden for non Edo people to speak to Oba's language, and he encouraged the use of other dialects from the tribes he conquered!

BENIN wasn't a Kingdom in acient times, it was an empire extending from OKAH and ONITSHA in recent Anambra state, all through the DELTA and EDO regions to the recent day BENIN Republic via many of the recent day ONDO, southern part of OGUN and the whole of LAGOS states. I've never heard of the Oba of Benin's head being traditionally sent to Ife, however the name Ile-Ife is actually a Benin word meaning, "I escaped successfully". With reference to your comment, one can only assume that the Oba whose head was alledged to have been sent to Ile-Ife was actually looking for his son before he died. The son being "Ekaladeran" who escaped from the Ogiso palace in Benin City!
