My dad went to war, and I was lucky enough to get him back, but this song makes me cry just thinking about what might have happened. To all of you who said comments that were against this song, take a moment and think. If there weren't people to fight, nothing would be as we know it. We could all be living in a literal hell. These people do everything for us and without asking anything in return but respect. Come on.
this song remember of my dad but he died it was really sad :'( face i love this song so much and i will never for get this and i will allway have this in my heart!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 < i love u timely
I love the song. It sings a universal message that is more powerful because of its simplicity. The message actually has wider application too. Many relatives of Canadians fought for other armies, but the sadness and the selfless sacrifice are the same - Americans, British, French, Indians, Chinese and on and on. Police officers also have died to protect our freedoms. Remembering them is the least we can do.
@chimpbottle um wow ur stupid he was talking then about world war 1 in the trenches, and know you dont respect his message else you wouldnt call it lolcrap how dare you
I don't think this song is about one war in particular. Just about any soldier who ever fought for their country's freedom. But just because he's singing about courageous soldiers doesn't make his lyrics any good. The message he is trying to convey is admirable, of course, but the way he articulates it is so "meh"
@tttaaayyylor so u could always steal one and start killing ppl again dont u play mw3? plus in shooting games if u get killed u have bullets again so this must've been fun they're actually in the game
all u haters must know thousands of men and woman died for your peace and if they didnt u probly wouldnt be here know and we would be part of germany and pray that we stay free and that people survive the afgan war and some people that were in the war that survived have a hard time living. when those people close there eyes they think of the batle field and have visions of there friends dieing and feel guilty and when they here loud noises they think its a gun. someone jumped off a bridge

It's not like that will kill you to stop and respect the one's who gave YOU the right to go shopping, so shut the heck up, and be respectful! Because a lot of people died in that war! including my GREAT GRAND father, he really was Great and Grand, and he died for you freedom, so stop, listen, and respect those who gave you freedom, and technically life. Because if you were a live in that, I bet a whole bunch of you would give up your life for random strangers, but they did. So respect them.
You do not need to agree as to why Canada is there in Afghanistan...the soldiers themselves did not decide that decision...However, you must appreciate their sacrifices...
this song is so sad and it just pissy me off when the Dad acts like an ass like holy fuck how much do you need to just listen and take (TWO MINUTES OF TIME) it's good that he felt like an ass in the end
my brother served and serves in the military .. he is stationed in New Brunswick right now .. every year on this day .. November 11 .. i watch this music video .. thank you to all the soldiers for fighting for us .. i love you all <3
to me if you dislike this you are in full disrespect and dont care what people have done for you i think were lucky that we have freeedom dont be a jerk be someone who is proud of their soliders!
some people just have no respect.. its fine to believe in your own country.. but you dont need to belittle and have disrespect for anothers country.. this is how wars start in the first place.. every soldier whiether they are from your counrty or not is a hero in someones eyes.. stop all the dicrimination.
@c4gregjockca Spine? hahaha spine, tell me have you ever left your cozy suburban neighbourhood? Have you ever had to leave you homeland for fear of death? You're prolly another rich kid with white collar parents who bought you your computer so you can spill your filth about. Get lost you immature prick. This isn't about the army or a nation, it's about people who gave their lives. Lives, do you know what that means? wow, what a waste of time, sorry I replied.

Stop with the negativity, have pride in ones country and have respect for those who sacrificed their lives to make your country a better place. Most of you need a fucking history lesson, the comments are ridiculous.
Our school played this video during our tribute to remembrance day celebration yesterday. We had veterans of WWII carry the flags and march in the gym. It was really something to see the innocence of the children and know that they were all living peacefully, eating Halloween and, enjoying their sheltered little lives because of those crooked, gray haired old men who fought valiantly and faced down death and evil. They are our only true witnesses to the murder and propaganda that took place.
@c4gregjockca. Now listen once you spineless little fuck. Never disrespect this holiday because the people we remember, are the ones who fought so you can prove to the Internet how retarded you are. Troll somewhere else or learn history before I make your face look like Flanders field with the poppy pins we wear.
I have one question for the 10 people who DISLIKED this video......Who the hell do you think you are, these MEN and WOMEN gave their lives to save us so we could live out our lives and make the world a better place to be in.
I don't care if my youtube acc gets banned i just want to know why people are too self centered to give 2 damn minutes of their time to remember the fallen. I am Canadian, German, French and British and I am PROUD of it
May we never forget all the men and women who died fighting for freedom in both USA and Canada. Let God save the present and future soldiers. Lest we forget.
@acct445 The States are a great nation no doubt, and yes, Canada is much smaller in comparison both economically and militarily. But this is video about veterans in wars where both Canada and the States served. Show a little less arrogance, besides the way your economy is going China will be the world power sooner or later.
K look all these people who don't care about this f*ck off ok!! Remembrance day is epic how would u feel if u were in war all dirty with a m1 garand. I'm talking to some Americans
@cockwiper Apparently Remembrance Day is not meant as a "holiday", it's supposed to be a day to commemorate soldiers who fought for our freedom and died in WWI.
If your not Canadian and think Remembrance day is "stupid", it's fine, but please show your respect ,because Remembrance Day is important to many Canadians.
@cockwiper this whole song pretty much summed up what we do for rememberance day. and its not a "holiday" its when everyone stops what they're doing and remember what canadian soldiers and fought for our freedom. They completely deserve our respect, so don't be rude about it even if you don't think so.
i dident like what that guy did he should have some respect for what are soldiers did for us in WWI andWWII but yet in the end he did do some of the two minuets i dont know if you know this but WWI started in1914 and ended in 1918 and WWII started in 1939 and ended in 1945 and the war o right now has been on since october.7.2001 so thats 10 years lest we forget remember the boys and the girls who went over
I, unlike others, respect and honour the Canadian vets who have served our great country! If it were not for the efforts of the Canadian soldiers my father would not have survived in Nazi occupied Holland. The Canadian soldiers liberated Holland, they fought and many died. The Candian graves in Holland are treated with respect and cared for meticulously. All Dutch children are taught about the sacrifices made by the Canadian soldiers. The garbage you spout just reflects your ignorance.
@c4gregjockca I find it ironic that in half the countries on this planet, you'd be killed for saying things like that, yet you choose to say that about the people who died so that you COULD have the right to flap your idiotic gums about whatever pathetically naive, uninformed, and immature views you may hold in your miniscule little brain. There have been at least a handful of situations over the course of time in which you could have been kept from existing if not for those people...
@c4gregjockca It's such a great feeling to know that people like you won't be bashed for sharing your views on the world; if you were in the Middle East, they'd execute you. Here, we are all happy to allow you to spew forth your banter, and welcome it with open arms :) Keep going, you are giving me more and more pride in being Canadian :)
Love this!!! .... With Remembrance day coming, please check out my video 'Soldier Boy' (search Stu Aspinall). I wrote the song after being inspired by the story of a young soldier who suffered from PTSD before finally giving in to the disorder. I am donating proceeds from every download of my song to support programs that help soldiers and their families try and deal with PTSD, so PLEASE go to itunes and help fight PTSD. Thanks for the support & to soldiers everywhere!! Lest we Forget!
@acct445 You are a complete idiot.. It is people like you who have no class and the reason that the citizen's of your country are hated so much around the world. It's because of ignorant, uneducated disrespectful inbred losers like you.
@cookie2579 bite me? attack USA with your military if u dare. get the hell off, nobody gives a fuck if you are nice. we will let the guns do the talking.
This video makes me cry every year I see it. For my family who died and for every other Canadian who lost a loved one in a war, lest we forget. Every day of the year I think of those who lost their lives fighting for my freedoms and on remembrance day my heart goes out and I plead that everyone takes only two minutes of silence. I love you Canada! Never forget!
this is an awesome song and video in which I have been trying to find for a while that I watch years ago. It makes you think of those who have went before us both in the USA and Canada. We honor the fallen and we service our country with pride. I am in the U.S. Navy. May God guide us and protect us no matter where you are.
Every year at school this video is shown, and no one is disrespectful.
Americans think they're better then us canadians in wars, but we all know that's not true. like in WWII, The canadians pushed the germans back and the Americans fought the Germans but was losing, so the Canadians had to go back and Push back the Germans for the final time. I just don't get how the Americans can they WON the war when WEe the CANADIANS WON THE WAR!!!
@AshleyDavenport1 no dear, the americans have not forgot all the canadians have done then, now and later. Those americans who fail to recall are to be pitied because their nation and ours are one in the defence of the innocents who suffer the abuse of the dictators, bullies and the oppressors. Our blood and theirs have pooled many many times. do not be bitter.God bless Canada, God bless our allies, as well. our shared borders mean nothing when our nation is at risk!
As a Canadian, I can agree that Canadians assisted in World War I and II. Every country did.
Some countries have specific victories over others. Like for instance, Canadians have the liberation of the Netherlands, but trying to say which country won the war "more" only continues this cycle of competition or feeling "less" than another country. Not all Americans think they are superior. As a Canadian yourself, I would expect more of you as far as stereotyping goes.
This video made me cry i love it. at school everyone would stand for this song and for the solders, we pray for the ones who gave up there lives for us. 7 people have no heart.
I have trouble holding my tounge with some of these comments, just please, show respect for what these soldiers sacrificed for us, in any country we should remember this everyday. I am not a soldier I cannot even try to imagine what these men sufferd through. I know soldiers, my grandfather is a war veteran from World war two and for that I am honored and thank men like him every day.
I remember when this happened, I was 9 at the time. Although I was too young to know what exactly remembrance day exactly was all for. But even I knew when to shut up and take a time.
if u are reading this then go and read the book wounded by eric walters. its about this kind of stuff, its really sad and its a great read. just do it!
i absoloutly hate the dad in this. he is so disrespectful! it just two minutes! if you dont care then go live in haiti or something. not in a country like canada. I <3 u soldiers! thank u!!!
People say these men and women are crazy to join the military and fight in different lands but what they don't tell you is that they are on some hard hard issued military drugs.Prescribtion drugs for combat missions.think anyone would do this while they're sober? NO WAY even tylenol 3 with codeine or oxycontin will work they create SUPER SOLDIERS like that..
my dad would have do what he did his dad was in the war well the secedn one he lide abut his age to fight in it he did not die in the whor but he did die of cancer i miss him so much
@soscaulfield Wtf? a big war that if nobody did anything we would be Jew hating Nazis right now and after a few years you think it's okay to forget? Remembrance day is also for remembering the soldiers that died from peacekeeping to keep this country free
@soscaulfield go to hell where you belong. we will never forget the men and women who fought and died for our freedom. or the men and women who still fight and die for our freedom and the freedom of others. canada has 40 active military missions world wide right now. many are solely peace keeper missions but still a dangerous job.
I love how it included not just our soldiers, but the soldiers of other armies too. They may have been our enemies but they fought and died for what they thought was right too.
I watch this video every year on Remembrance Day. It makes me emotional every time. It reminds me that not only have people sacrificed for us then, but soldiers are still risking their lives every day for us.
@TheTinkTastic exactly they just don't get it. they don't even need to like the song. its the meaning in the song that counts. you need to always remember those who have served us it makes me cry thinking about how we're free all because of the brave men and women who fought for us and the world.
Only a completely cruel person would press the dislike button. don't reply to this comment saying im cruel you may not like the song but thats not why its sung.
when you think of it we wouldent have any of the things we have now, we owe our live to the brave and the yound soldiers thats died in war. most gave their lives some gave a body part, all they ask in return is a couple min of scilece. a couple min out of our busy lives isnt much, but i think they atleast deserve that.
Anybody who doesn't honor their countries veterans doesn't deserve to live........thank you for serving your country!

AshleyDavenport1 5 months ago
@AshleyDavenport1 no dear, the americans have not forgot all the canadians have done then, now and later. Those americans who fail to recall are to be pitied because their nation and ours are one in the defence of the innocents who suffer the abuse of the dictators, bullies and the oppressors. Our blood and theirs have pooled many many times. do not be bitter.God bless Canada, God bless our allies, as well. our shared borders mean nothing when our nation is at risk!
PrintingEssentials 5 months ago
@PrintingEssentials Oh, i am not trying to be bitter, let me assure you. Sometimes it seems as if they do forget. But thanks.
AshleyDavenport1 4 months ago
@AshleyDavenport1 thank you dear for sharing your perspective. it is Canada's youth who will soon be in charge. God bless you dear!
PrintingEssentials 4 months ago
@AshleyDavenport1

Thank you.

@soscaulfield ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? SO YOU'RE TELLING US THAT WE SHOULD JUST SAY "FUCK REMEBRANCE DAY?"
Avery1599 1 year ago
@soscaulfield Wtf? a big war that if nobody did anything we would be Jew hating Nazis right now and after a few years you think it's okay to forget? Remembrance day is also for remembering the soldiers that died from peacekeeping to keep this country free
Gamer11707 1 year ago 4
@soscaulfield go to hell where you belong. we will never forget the men and women who fought and died for our freedom. or the men and women who still fight and die for our freedom and the freedom of others. canada has 40 active military missions world wide right now. many are solely peace keeper missions but still a dangerous job.

when you think of it we wouldent have any of the things we have now, we owe our live to the brave and the yound soldiers thats died in war. most gave their lives some gave a body part, all they ask in return is a couple min of scilece. a couple min out of our busy lives isnt much, but i think they atleast deserve that.
