Well, it was my girlfriend that called them tuk-tuks, and she says that in new zealand they are called tuk-tuks (from the noise of the 2-stroke engines) Friends tell me they are called tuk-tuks in thailand too?!
I was certainly overcharged! In all the time in Hyderabad, I only saw the meter used once, which is when I came back from IT City to the lake, and it cost about 100 rupees. The only reason the meter went on was because some indian friends I was with made him...
I did learn to haggle later on, and you can get the journey price down.
To be honest though, I would try and pick the best kept Tuk-Tuk and driver, so that there was a chance I would make it to my destination without breakdown. Old Tuk-Tuk's do not like a heavy Englishman on board....
Tuk Tuk??? You should ask the locals about what is an autorickshaw...

That pushed my heart rate up 50%, that is just nuts.
Does the tuk tuk have turn signals, or is it just aimed and hope for the best?
Great video, I watched it twice.
gianthamsandwich 4 years ago
they do have turn signal on the new ones...
This wasn't new....
LOL Might is right in India, so bikes and motorbikes give way, nothing larger does.
