The Military Channel is hosting Harlan Glenn's "BATTLE RATS: Iwo Jima" documentary on Nov 22 2009 at 10pm. The show features footage of the island today, also at the end is the memorial ceremony for Sgt Leon Padell USMC

Such a wonderful collection of snap shots. I didn't know your dad, but I know and knew a few guys like him and what unforgetable fellows they are indeed. It is my sincere hope that all who watch Battle Rats: Iwo Jima will get that it's not just a battlefield exploration show, that each episode is a journey to rediscover and honor the deeds and lives of guys like your dad.

This slideshow was created to honor the men of Headquarters 2nd Battalion 24th Regiment 4th Marine Division. While it starts on Iwo Jima today it goes to Iwo in 1945 and then follows Sgt Leon Padell from Parris Island to Camp Pendleton to Camp Maui to Iwo Jima.
