No it's "having a war" between imperialists and Irish people who happen to be prodominantly of those religions. If you look into it in any depth whatsoever you'll find Protestant nationalists.
I found out about them from the movie "Boondock Saints"... it's a shame I never heard of them sooner! They even drowned out my exgf when she started! lmao
The problem is they're a local band on an independent label. Don't let their popularity online fool you - they don't have a huge amount of money to tour, period.
:(
I'm sure they'd love to go tour in Ireland more - many of them still have family there.
I don't know, perhaps they are since they have close ties with Ireland and are active members of the Irish American Community here.
I've heard them say they'd love to be able to tour more, especially in Ireland and the UK, or even in the US, but it's just really expensive so they can't tour as much as they like. So, they play mostly local shows here in Boston/Chelsea and Revere.
But don't feel bad, really! =) They're more known locally for their support of local sports and unions. Their most famous song on the national scene I think, is Shipping Up To Boston, ever since Papelbon from the Red Sox did a victory dance to it. =D
They've played with a lot of great bands like the Dubliners, the Pogues, Flogging Molly and Ashley MacIssac, so I bet they're popular in Ireland and the UK. They don't go there not out of lack of love or pride, just lack of funds to travel.
Saw them in Stuttgart. That was amazing. Swabians are so boring... all the bad ass people were from far away. Just like me. That was a sick show. Kicked ass.

They seem to do a distinct lack of touring in Ireland for a band who has adopted irish musical influences, lyrical influences and what not
