@codycreeper My personal theory (don't quote me): The police set it all up. Beckett was wearing a vest and her death was faked to draw out the killer. In the end, Beckett will finally take down the man who killed her mother - and Captain Montgomery. The crew will have to adjust to the new by-the-book captain (who gets rid of Castle) and Castle's mysterious father makes an appearence. But that's just crazy talk.
