The Departed takes the neat Cat and Mouse plot of Infernal affairs and adds some actual drama too it. The great part is when you can portray something without saying a word. During the first phone call, you know what they are thinking, but nothing is said.  Try doing that with a friend see if you can pull it off.

I'd like to point out that this film is a 'COPY'. The director and storyline are not great as the film is a remake of a Hong Kong film called Infernal Affairs of which is so much better.

Infernal Affairs was never as good as it's "Copy". Scorsese made it so much better, he gave the characters so much more depth, which the original (the first one at least didn't achieve). Well that's my opinion.
