And just to be clear I really didnt mean any offence here. I think your a very talented, fast, strong and impressive kenpo blackbelt Mr.Miller. Just I didnt like this technique here at all.
What technique are you doing here? The first move looks like 5 swords, but i dont regcognise the other 2 moves! If its an alternate version of 5 swords I cant see myself why its better than the original, which after 13 years of training with the IKKA, I can tell you works everytime! Especially the uppercut! I would Never use what your showing here on the street, that last strike especially looks too weak. Flashy'ness aside I'll stick to that which Master Parker prescribed, No offence intended!
My opinion is your application is brutally effective and I pity the buzzard who is on the end of your application in a street altercation...A fellow Kempo black belt and fellow Born Again Christian. (MIchaud/Cerio Kempo lineage)
It's not a written technique. I don't spend all our class time on the Ideal Phase. I like to keep a combative mode by playing around with things that attack the skeleton. You really can't tell what I am doing here, but I am stopping his punch with a vertical punch to the shoulder joint, then I load by catching the mandible with a ripping motion and I drop a hammerfist on the clavicle. On the angle of departure I am doing a forearm strike. Just playing with our great system to teach principles.
You most certainly could. The only problem with that in this situation would be going from a vertical plane to a horizontal; if he drops his height, which he should if you drop the hammer properly, you will not want a quick rebound or you may deflect off the top of his head. There should be a short pause to allow his reaction to take place. Also, focusing on a rebound would take away some power in the hammer. Put all you have in the hammer, then go.

Thank-you, my friend. Good call.

Not a bad habit. Paul Mills does the same thing and he's amazing.

I agree. Mr. Mills is great. In fact, a lot of the greats make that sound. It's just something I picked up along the way I guess, LOL.

I think it looks good for a 4th. I have seen his teacher do the same thing and he is very close.

makes sense, thanks for the explanation.
Would you get a bit of rebound from the hammerfist to the forearm strike?

I see you are a YouTube troll so your opinion is invalid. Come to my school and show me how it's done. I'll await your visit.
