The sound you hear from the video is loud because of the surface of the ground. If you are doing this on the track, you should not be creating such loud sound, if you do, it means that your ankles are not firmed up. I always encourage my athletes to dorsiflexed.
I want to start doing this exercise. Are you supposed to land so hard. Anytime I have a hard audible landing like that I catch hell from my coach, im told to be light on my feet and not to pound the ground.

his lean is fine...this is to help increase power in the drive phase/acceleration phase...you want a really good lean for that phase
