Thank you for posting this Jose. And yes, the candle was for Thys .... we buried him Friday Sept. 3. And if you understand the words of these songs, Requiem and Hurt, you know it could have been written for someone who took his own life.
Actually, the candle he referred to was a single one, on other chair that doesn't appear in the movie. Later on he explained: That candle was representing a friend of Jan (the owner of the cafe), who had commited suicide in the day before. Very sad...
