@Nightbird1234567890 try approaching them with one eye closed, hand out SLOWLY and keep fingers together! If their pupils start to get pinned and they look with one eye also it means they are intrigued and possibly on the way to trusting you.

In most of my vids I do refer to it as a "he" becaues as far as I can tell (by mrkings and size) it IS a he .However , I am told that Blizzard is female :/ I had her/him DNA tested and am just waiting for the results -

Very true . Blizzard has been with the rescue center for some time but has not been handled until now , so she is pretty much still wild (she will always be wild). She and I are making great progress , hopefully soon we will be able to take her to the classrooms with us

I suppose it's because that wild Snowy Owls have to be very cautious about things that are unfamiliar to them, so inspite of the camera posing no threat, he hisses at it to intimidate it anyway, since he can't fly away.
