We all know Iran has the ability to retaliate. I'd like Israel and the USA not to attack them but I'm sure it will happen someday. I do not agree the way their leaders have choosen but they have the right to defend themselves. Raids on their nuclear facility would have terribles consequences on more than a hundred-thousand of civilians and might not stop them from getting the nuclear weapon.

And one last thing, during both the gulf war and the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan, what did we do with our prisoners of war? we fed them, gave them water, took them to hospitals, etc. VERY FEW POWs were actually tortured & interrogated. Yet what do these people do when they occasionally take American prisoners of war? They cut their heads off, stone them, drag their naked bodies through the street, post it on national television, I think you get my point.

Try to reason with them first, exhaust all diplomatic solutions, and sanctions to prevent military action. They refuse to do even the littlest things to assure the world their program is peaceful. Prevention of all of this is real simple. Iran claims peaceful intentions with it's nuclear program. Then allow inspectors into all your nuclear facilities. Allow the countries who offered to help get rid of and transport the nuclear materials that are produced that can only be used for a weapon to do so. Just take steps to assure the world your program is for peaceful purposes and leave no reason for an attack. These are very reasonable request. There would be no justification for an attack.

Iran has not attacked conventionally up to this point only because they lack the capability and/or if they did the retaliation against them would be overwhelming.
