  • I love this video-she took her time explaining everything. Plus i love the way she said "fondant" :P

  • 2012

    wow

  • you can make fondant with powder sugar and marshmallos its wayyyyyyyyyyy cheaper

  • There sure is a lot of negativity here. Thank you Belinda for the damp towel tip. I'm an intermediate cake decorator but new to fondant. Everyone I've seen so far on YT just dabs all their pieces with their wet fingers. I really like the damp cloth approach because it keeps my fingers dry and ready to continue with the next piece of fondant.

  • foundan is great for cakes but its not teasty

  • @emanovak marshmallow fondant is very tasty just the same as fondant except its muchhhhhhhhhhhh nicer

  • At 4:15 it stops

  • dude everytime she rubs that fondant it sounds like sandpaper

  • Use more food color woman! D:<

  • whenever i see this, i just wanna take the fondant and shove it in my mouth.

  • "Up here it can get pretty humid", please lady, come to arkansas, you'll see what humidity is.

  • Comment removed

  • i wish she wudnt rub tht fuckin fondant so much the nose is so annoying!!!

  • can you please give me the recipie for the frosting you used on the cake before you applied the fondant?

  • corn starch chemicaly reacts to fondant and should never be used. Always use powdered sugar

  • do fonadnt cakes need to be layerd

  • @sweetcandy1137 no.They can be however you want them. one tier or 10

  • I know the easiest way to remove air bubble's, throw it under a bus that way you wont get any germs from your hands on it.

  • hi, i would like to ask, how actually do u keep this fondant cake so that the fondant doesnt melt easily?

  • is very very nice !!!!! traducela en español!!!

  • You are not suppose to use cornstarch because there is a chemical reaction that occurs with the fondant.

    Use powder sugar.

  • The baker looked like she wanted to back slap the host. She looked annoyed.

  • the baker did NOT seem to like the host! great tutorial video though :)

  • the best thing is to..go to the bakery and buy the dam cake man

  • the fat lady is annoying, Belinda does have a soothing voice and is very skilled.

  • nice tips ty!!!! I will try my first fondant cake for my grandma's b-day!

  • thank you, you really help me

  • Belinda has a very soothing voice ;)

  • @Kelz06081984 glad someone else noticed.

  • So basically, u gotta put buttercream icing on the cake and chill it before u put the fondant on..so heres my question, how long do we have to chill it? and..will it taste good? or..wat? LOL thx for those who are willing to answer :D

  • An hour is usually good but I've left a cake in the fridge overnight before (covered with plastic wrap) and it still tasted fresh and moist.

  • @iliruzanna94 u can chill the cake for about an hour...it will still taste good...normally i dont cover the cake wen i chill it...it turns out good

  • ive been wondering the same questions, lol. im new to this :]

  • Thank you - I made my first ever fondant covered cakes last week as Christmas gifts. Whilst they were not perfect - your video has helped me know what to do for teh next time.

  • cool

  • Hello my name isCelia, I am Spanish and I have been charmed with the tart that you have done. I have seen more videos of these tarts and I would like to be able to do it in my house. I ask them that if podréan to put all the ingredients that habeis used to make myself the tart stepwise and especially it would like to know does to the white cap that you throw(add) above in order that it(he) remains perfect. I hope that you could help me. A greeting.

  • I´m dutch and SCHOEN is dutch and the translation is SHOE

  • Nice video and good explications :-) Well done!

P.S.: I'm german and "Schoen" (=schön) means "nice" in my language. Fits good with your nice work here ;-)

  • How long do you refrigerate the cake?

  • Love the video..it is actually the design that I want to try to make for my bday cake next month ^_^ wish me luck..

Btw, how long should i put the cake in the ref. before i can apply fondant on the top of the cake?

how thick is your pale pink fondant that you use in this video?

    Thanks for the info.

  • when i make my cakes i put the cake in the fridge just long enough so the buttercream goes firm and on thickness i go 1/4 in or 5-7 mm but thats just me!

  • Where can I get those Metal rings also what are they called.

  • lols They're cookie cutters

  • oh ya well thats retarded

  • you could probably get them at any cake decorating store

  • i have a question!!!!!! when u make the fondant.. to get different colors you have to make many different fondant icing right?? or is there an easier way?

  • you can make the fondant and split it into batches, and colour each seperate batch.

  • well usually whay i do id i double the recipe and then split the fondant in to separate rounds and then color them what ever color you want. MM fondant tastes the best anyways FYI. good luck!!!!

  • I usually just take a blob of the basic fondant and knead a bit of food colouring into it, adding more flour/icing sugar to make it less liquidy and to adjust the colour.

  • the woman doz not look happy mabie she's being forced to do that lol

  • @levikfc

    maybe she s just shy

  • cute it makes good earwax

  • i think if she use other colour for border that look very nice and beautiful...but the cakes look unhappy to see. there's no colour.... but, nice job and the decoration looks better

  • You've got to be kidding? Do you use a "Chain Saw" to cut a cake the day after it is iced with Royal Icing?

  • hahahahah I love that

  • I've played with a lot of fondant. And a rule of tumb is to NOT use Wilton rolled fondant. It taste like sugar play-do. Try a marshmellow fondant. Recipies can be found online, all flavors can be added at it taste so much better.

  • but can you mould mm fondant the same way as regular fondant? can you make 3D things like bows or roses with it? I would have thought it'd be too sticky, that's why I'm afraid to try it!

  • I just made my sister's wedding cake with marshmallow fondant. I followed a recipe I found here on youtube and was able to cover the cake layers with it and also make ribbon roses to ring the bottom of each layer. It turned out gorgeous (if I do say so myself, haha) and it tasted great!

  • its not that sticky aslong as you make sure you add plenty of p/s :)

  • im pretty sure that you can do the same thing with any type of fondant. the differences are just in flavor and texture. like butter cream fondant is very greasy and is hard to form if you dont get the recipe right.

  • please tell me what should i do to clean powder sugar or cornstarch fron my fondant. Or what should i do to prevent powder sugar or cornstarch to stick to my fondant

    ??

  • she's not using the right roller for it

I prefer the silicone ones without handles for even pressure

  • OMG! I am doing colored fondant cakes but cornstarch sticks to it! what should i do?!

  • what is the best kind of fondant that i should make...i got an already made one a Micaels and it was like too marshmellowy lol i want to make a kind of fondant that would taste good with the cake...HELP PLEASE?!

  • If you dont like how it tastes you can add someflavor that you like but without making the fondant get that color

  • Try a marshmello fondant. I sell it on cakes and people love it. I found a simple recipie online.

  • The younger girl could'nt put her hands to the table without touching the fondant! But I like the video! Thanx.

  • belinda had a nice voice

  • Very Informative! But why chill the cake first? What will happen if you put the fondant on a cake recently iced with buttercream?

  • It will buckle, Stretch, and get "wrinkled".

And thats if your lucky. :/

Its better to let it set.

  • Thanks to this video I tried fondant for the first time. Had no problem on my first try rolling out fondant on a 12" cake. Came out perfect!

  • wheres can i find the exact recipes of fondant cake thank you very much please help me at waht website please

  • Fondant recipes can be found by searching, "Fondant" and there are several variations. I suggest trying the marshmallow version available to grab here on youtube.

Also try cake books at your library, they are very handy, and then you can copy it and always have a hard copy for your recipe box.

  • thanks for the video. Helped me a lot, in learning to make a cake for my father

  • I think it did looked realy easy to do,but maby it's hard to do. And Belinda sade that's she had done many cakes, and that it took her a long time to learn. But this cake did realy look like an orginalcake. Good job, there Belinda. Thank you for uploading this video, right up on Youtube. And I think Belinda did it so smoth and slowly, becouse I think it's inportant that you're not upstressed, when you do fine cakes as this. Thank you one more time. Bye!

  • Great video!!

I´ve learned a lot just by watching.

The cake recipe is not the problem, the problem, in my oppinion, is to dominate the manual work with the foundant.

  • great video, thanks!

  • wow! i wanna do that!!!!

  • The video was awesome, but her voice was a little bit boring.

  • You make this look so easy, wow! I am going to try my very first fondant cake this weekend so I am more confident in trying now that I have seen how it is done rather than just reading how. Thank you for the lesson!

  • excellent video! more videos please!!!!
