It was night to hear the main tune over all of the accompaniment (like what happens with most groups) but it might have been better executed if she was just louder by one dynamic level rather than having massive vibrato. The vibrato threw off the tuning several times. With vocal jazz experience under my belt, with all of the tight harmonies, vibrato HAS to be seldomly used or else everything gets out of tune with each other because each person hears each variation of the pitch and tunes to that.
The fact that the lead lady stood out was a nice change from the bland blended a cappella groups; People forget that the original is one woman singing and replicating her voice at multiple pitch levels, there is still a vocal lead which controls the emotional output of the others.
You guys are the only ones that didn't completely murder the dynamics of the song that made it so emotional; congratulations. You should consider doing it again with better recording equiptment.
I don't understand some of the negative comments below. Who cares about swaying and memorisation? Jealous idiots seems the only sensible answer. The sound quality of the recording is not sufficiently high enough to say the singing is nasal or any other bollocks.
i like that the solo stands out and doesn't blend in... i guess that's what a solo is for..!
holding music - fair enough, as he learnt it that day!
performance etc - its nice to just hear people singing something beautiful without making a "song and dance" about it for a change... if you'll pardon the irony! a nice change to the in your face performances that Xfactor tell us we like these days. sometimes it CAN be relaxed, about the music, without lights, costumes and choreography.

First group I've heard exhale near the end =) Best harmonies I've heard yet! You've got it pretty much spot on.

serious performance issuses: swaying, hands in odd places, memorization issues?? blending is also a bit of an issue, which may be a recording issue.
Otherwise, beautiful arrangement, and you all have amazing voices, and this sounded pretty in tune from what i could hear (:

The only reason Simon is holding music is because he was a last minute addition to the choir for the day.. with only the days rehearsal
But other than that, thanks for the comments
