Ritsuka's voice gives life to this song...it's well put-together as it is, but her expressive voice adds that touch to make it emotionally touching.
Ritsuka is my favorite NND singer (yes, even above Valshe...who I believe is a singing alien from an alien race of alien singers, btw) - she has a perfect mix of emotional expression, tight control, firmness, and richness in her voice.
I think what HoshikoYuka means that Japanese don't generally in this way; this is very aspirate voice, which tends to be a Western trait. Japanese language puts glottal stops behind their sentences, giving their song alot of staccato quality. I'm somewhat glad that's not the case here.
@DementedMunchkin Japanese is hard to sound right, and she doesn't have a weird accent when singing. Singing in a language you don't know is pretty hard, so it makes her all the more amazing.
@fabuloustree eh, I find what japanese I know (admittedly only enough to get by as a tourist) to be straight-forward and pretty easy to say. The good thing about japanese is that any given sound always sounds like that single sound, no question over long or short vowels...
Anyways, my point is that Japanese is pretty easy once you've got the knack. I can't help but feel I've missed the point of this conversation though...
@x3myseouldreams I know that korean different from japanese(I've been hooked on japanese stuff since third grade[16 years old now]), but that doesn't mean that the singer isn't korean :) I've heard stuff about wotamin, that she is korean and sings japanese perfectly, so I was wondering if Ritsuka was korean too :P
@xBoyShorts Well omg. How many Vocaloid/UTAUloids do you think there is? Vocaloid don't release new vocaloid every week, UTAUloids are fanmade and not many of them are popular.
@Trinamin Nico Nico douga, a popular site with many artists (not really artist, but really good singers).
In that site many people cover Vocaloid songs, like Nico Nico Chorus, it's like 5 (or more) people singing the same song but it's mashed up, so it becomes a chorus. There's many more people than Ritsuka that cover vocaloid song, you've probably seen the same videos but with another name. Ritsuka is a real person, not a vocaloid whatsoever.
@literalnoise well you see, i said that she doesn't sound like she's japanese and i wished that she could sing in english you see...? sorry if i'm acting a bit smart i was just clarifying my statement :3
