when i reset my psp and turn on it says this memory stick(tm) cannot be read. go to [Settings] to format the memory stick(tm). but when i format it says Format failed (8022008B) damn help me.. its a SONY memory stick PRO Duo 4Gb MagicGate

dude i got a fake 8gb magic stick from ebay that was sent from hong kong, its a 4gb in reallity. and the user unregistered from ebay. :( is there anything i can do like get a refund or something maybe?

If you have transferred money via Payson or Paypal you could get hold of them and ask for a refound.

That is one stupid thing about PayPal, they will not give you a refund until the seller confirms that they have recieved the item back, i.e. they are asking the person who just scammed you, to tell the truth >(

So, the scammer might probably end up keeping your money and you just wasted your money on sending the item back. I wasted $18on sending the item back with tracking info and sisn't get a refund for the fake 16 GB mem stick I bought for $52 :`(

This video doesn't apply to all situations, like my own, I just got a 8GB memory stick from eBay for $22 Can, the PSP does show that the mem card's support for magic gate is unkown, BUT for some miraculous reason, it is working just as an original one, it works with all the features like picture, music, movie, Games and it works at the same speed. WHat exactly am I missing to check if any? I want to know wath non-supported magic gate memory sticks can't do, PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION.

Unsopportet = Pirate card = It may work for a while but not having MAgic Gate (Original cards ) Can cause data to be Corrupted, Think about how mad youre going to be when installing a Update on the card and executingh it and the data is corrupted and whilst instlling the update your PSP freezez and Bricks....

It´s your loss, and Downloadable content from Sony wont even stick to the card as it uses MAgic Gate to marry it self to the Ms and PSP.

Thanks for the heads up, so I wouldn't be installing any update on it, I will use my other one which is original, and by the way, If my system does get bricked, I always have my Pandora battery to unbrick it ;) And yes, I will regret it if the card ever stops working within the next two years!!!!!!

Om du har otur o uppgraderar med filer från kortet kan du Bricka din PSP då filer kan bli korrupta.

This jist is put the Memory Stick in and press triangle to bring up Information about the stick. If it says 'unknown' instead of 'Supported' for the heading of Magicgate then it is a fake. Thats what I think he's saying. Mine says 'unsupported' and my data is always getting corrupted.

1. Take out your fake card from your psp.

2. Open trashbin.

3. Put fake card in trashcan.

4. Close the lid.

5. Go to a lreal store and buy a new one :)

6. Test it in your PSP... ( put the Memory Stick in and press triangle to bring up Information about the stick. If it says 'unknown' instead of 'Supported' for the heading of Magicgate then it is a fake. )

hej detta e inga problem nu för säljaren visste inte så han tar tillbaks det så får ja ett nytt och ja köpte kortet innan ja såg videon och ja har en vän från usa han vet mycket om psp han säger att magic gate får kortet att bli långsamt och att om man har unsupported e det bättre än supported ja tror honom inte

Du kan hälsa din "Vän" att han är rätt obildad :D MagicGate är en Krypteringsalgoritm som introducerades med PS2 8Mb korten för att säkert kunna validera o lagra kopieringsskyddad material.

t.ex om du köper ett nadladdningsbart spel via PSonline och materialet kan sedan inte kopieras vidare från det minneskort det laddats ned till.

MG påverkar inte hastigheten. Det var tamigfaan det dummaste jag hört på länge :D

ja hadde dessa problem med minneskortet

1.ja kunde bara lägga in 1 spel ibland 2 dem andra spele läste inte min psp

2.efter en formatering gick det sönder helt

som tur e får ja tillbaka pengarna e dem här problemen vanliga på ett pirat kort

Prova installera en nyare custom firmware så reder det sig säkert eller prata med den som flashade din psp åt dig :D

Basically you just put the memorycard in your PSP and ho to the card and press Triangle /\ then you should see MagicGate(tm) on the info, if not and it is pressed on the cards case then its a fake.
