I think if they make Mass Effect media, it should be a series...Way too much to put in one movie. Maybe they can have movies for large points in the Mass Effect universe.
@TheShipCommander I don't think this would ever make a good movie or show. One of the best things about this game is that the player can choose what happens in the story and how Shepard reacts to the universe around him/her. That kind of experience can't be transferred to a movie or tv show.

Why are people even arguing over which game is better; each their strengths and weaknesses. But both Halo AND Mass Effect are fun games. It doesn't matter which is better, as long as you enjoy playing both. If you prefer playing Halo over ME, or vice versa, that's fine. But don't go around trolling just because some people don't agree with you. That doesn't make them wrong, and that doesn't make you right. Opinions are OPINIONS, meaning that their a personal preference, not a proven fact.
mass effect is better than halo in my opinion halo is ok but metroid is better than than halo and mass effect is better than metroid this my opinion which is my favourite scifi and halo is better than crysis or i dont now mass effect fells so epic its so addicting
The Mass Effect games are an amazing blend of story and action, relationships and emotion, realism and creativity. It shows insight on human nature, and how beautiful we are as a people. It shines light on issues of religion, government, and racism. It humbles the most intelligent of minds. It makes you care about the races and characters, and uses both original and (a lot) of inspiration from other great sci-fi books, tv shows, games, and movies.
In the year 2148, explorers on Mars discovered the remains of an ancient spacefaring civilization. In the decades that followed, these mysterious artifacts revealed startling new technologies, enabling travel to the furthest stars. The basis for this incredible technology was a force that controlled the very fabric of space and time.
They called it the greatest discovery in human history.

@wkunzelman1 you remember to zip up your jumpsuit on your way out of the restroom thats good i just jumped us halfway across the galaxy and hit a target the size of a pinhead thats incredible besides specters are trouble i dont like having em around...call me paranoid.
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Mass Effect. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
@blitzwingfan the music is deeply intertwined with the experience of the game. If you want to understand the music you should play the game (there is no other way). Gameplay mechanics of ME1 are rather poor, IMO, and you'll be somewhat frustrated with them. But it is a hell of a game!
Really? What part of ME1's gameplay did you prefer? I love ME1, but it seems pretty plain to me that ME2 was a much more satisfying combat experience. Biotics, tech, and shooting were all improved.
@Kloborgg The biotics and tech, actually. Being able to actually mix my attacks, instead of dealing with a universal cooldown is nice, plus I missed the Mako in 2.
...And being able to MK Walk as a Bastion-Sentinel was amusing too.
@ManekIridius Agree to disagree I guess. I'm used to global cooldowns from other RPGs, and I really liked the fact that every single squad members offered a completely unique ability to the table. I also liked the choice of abilities at the fourth rank, though I kind of wish there were more "skill trees" to go down. I can't say I missed the Mako at all, and as for actual shooting I found the mechanics much smoother and snappier.
@scottthesnow Halo may not have a better story but id still give the cake to Halo because the first couple games and Odst were amazing multiplayerwise and Odst had a great story. Although i do love Mass Effect and dont get me wrong its definitely one of the best games out there, however if we are talking about scifi universes nothing compares to Battlestar Galactica. It had an amazing story, characters, subjects of thought, and it never fell to cheesy cliches
@kingcole55 Yeah but BSG has no aliens (technically) :P I love both Halo and Mass Effect. I an equally obsessed with both of them :D It's like comparing apples and oranges though. They are two COMPLETELY different game series.
mass effect 2 had an amazing combat system and great gameplay... but id have to give it to mass effect between the two of them because its story was stupendous
Well...making Halo seem like Twilight is harsh. Halo is pretty good, but it does pale compared to Mass Effect. So does Star Wars and Star Trek in my opinion. Mass Effect is one of the most compelling Sci Fi universes to ever make it to games. Comparing Halo to Twilight is just uncreative trolling though, twilight is such a filthy word.
@scottthesnow Star Wars is sci-fantasy, a space opera. It has a 30-year lead on ME, and is thus filled with so much more content (and actual sci-fi like ME's halfway-plausible titular mechanism) that we'd have to wait another 24 years of ME content before we can really compare the two. Jedi and Sith lore for one, encompass more content than the entire ME meta-universe (games & expanded material), and none of it should be missed. As games, remember these guys also made KOTOR.
@Jarrkha the guy just wanted to make a epic point you dont have to geek it up like that ... i like star wars but Mass Effect is just .... i dont have any words how to describe that ... Mass Effect really has characters locations and story that grow to your heart and minds ... sure KOTOR was good heck still is good but again Mass Effectis just the epicest piece of art ever made ... this is truly a game series that can say to all those non gamers out there ... GAMING IS TRULY A ART.
@scottthesnow i have to agree with you except no sci fi can ever surpass star wars im sorry... but i have always seen mass effect as the number 2 best sci fi universe
@DarthCannabis After playing and learning about the universe for both these last 4 years, I can say ME definitely doesn't make Halo look like Twilight. To me it's more like a comparison of Star Wars vs. Star Trek. They are technically close by genre setting, but they deal with it VERY differently, and thus, I like them both for different reasons....
@DarthCannabis dude i don't think is fair to make the me halo comparision like the cod and halo comparions they're vastly different games, each has it's strenghts and weaknesses, i have the three games and i like the three
When I listen to this masterpiece, I can just imagine the voices from the Alliance giving the perfect introduction to the perfect game and that never gets old. Epic.
