I have the same one but mines hot pink. I live it but yea ur right it does take a while to heat up so I have to get up early for school and turn it and wait untill it heats up to 200 degrees.
If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.
I have a CHI and it works so well i went to sallybeauty suply and got for like 30 bucks then if i bought a protection spray for 10 i got a free mini syraightener is was a really good deal!!!!!

Good luck and I hope this helps.
so my birthday is this friday and i'm dying for a new hair straightener so I would like your opinion on CHI's. Obviously, there a little more expensive but do you think there worth it? are they any better then, for example, a cricket?
I have heard that CHI's are really good. I have never owned one, so I can't say that they work for long periods of time, but I have used them occasionally and have gotten good results. I would say that they are probably the same quality if not a little better than this cricket flat iron. But they are a lot more expensive, and crickets are basically up to the same standards.
I've never used the cricket friction free one, but I have had a CHI for about 5 years, and it works just like it did when I first bought it. I really love my CHI, but if you want a cheaper option the Cricket seems good.
Chis are definitely worth it. I've had mine for five years. The trick is to never wrap the cord around it, and it should be fine. As for the results, it makes my extremely curly hair poker straight.
I haven't ever owned a CHI, but I have used them occasionally and have always heard they are good. But if it is damaging your hair a lot, then I would recommend trying out this one. It might help since it has the tourmaline plates. And it's definitely less expensive than a CHI.
I prefer the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it leaves my hair soft, shiny and super straight, :P
