As a toss player, it's embarassing to see one of my heroes (HuK) spam 3 guardian shields at once. They DO NOT STACK. It's such a waste to blow that much energy on THREE shields when they don't do anything extra.

I can understand later when he spreads them out to cover his entire army -- but in the beginning one shield would cover them all (he had only a few units) and he activated them all anyway. So weird.

@neverent What if you're trying to cover your entire forces? 1 Sentry GS is rarely ever sufficient in protecting your whole force. However, I do not know at which moment you are speaking so I wouldn't be able to say whether or not he was using it correctly or not.

Also, Huk is amazing, but he is not without flaws. He may have been excited and spammed it by accident. You never know. Stacking guardian shields will not dictate the outcome of the match, so a mistake like that is beyond excusable.

@neverent I think I may be beating a dead horse here, but the reason Huk did that was because he designed his unit positioning to have the sentries be target-fired, so he activated it on three so he wouldn't have to micro them anymore, which sounds like lazyness. However, if you watch other games, you'll see the Terrans target the sentries to get rid of GS, and we see Select did not do that. That could have been because of what Huk did with the sentries.

In the first game, why wouldn't Huk go for collosus after the first push? He knows select has no factory and is far from getting vikings. Collosus would get out sooner since he had already invested in the robo bay, and would be ready for the first counter while templar took too long.

The initial obs costs 200/100 because Day9 added in the cost of the robotics building needed to produce it. Another way to think of it is that the cost of each building on a per unit basis drops the more units you can squeeze out of it. So, optimizing unit creation so that you have just enough buildings to keep all producing while not accumulating too much banked resources will give you the lowest marginal unit cost. It's like real time finance.
