This car handles extremely well. On tarmac, in the woods, in sand. I know it, because I became the supposed-undercover-top secret-alternative semi-skilled- Northern European with dark hair and love for wooden floors-winner at the 2005 Paris Dakar. Also, there is no trouble parking it in a fairly large area with a hint of gravel.
This is not really a chinese car. What we have here is a warmed up version of the Isuzu Mu, once proudly sold in the US and Japan, then salvaged by Opel as the Frontera and now again re-salvaged as the Landwind. They didn't screw it up, it always was junk to begin with, made in Japan.
Assembling some first crappy cars is not very difficult. But from there it is a loooooong way to having cars that meet the standards. Just watch this:
TUV is English writing for German TÜV = Technischer Überwachungs-Verein
which approx. has the meaning of technical supervision association.
This is a big German company specialised in testing wares for safety.
German cars and motorbikes have to pass a technical inspection every two years. You can do this at a number of places, most inspection bureaus are owned by TÜV. TÜV also performs crash tests at a high sophisticated level.
hi there! May be TUV also is a chinese car type, may be, but I have never heard this. But you can see e.g. here: watch?v=2MBjobow808 that TÜV performs crash tests. (The TÜV logo is visible on the bonnet of that poor Audi being crashed for Teroson windscreen adhesive)
This car was a cheaply made copy of the "Opel/Vauxhal Frontera". But it was so unsafe, just like that "Brilliance", wich was only "brilliant" in its total loss of safety. Both had been tested with fatal results by one of the major Car Clubs in Germany (ADAC). If you wanna do suicide - don t jump the bridge, just buy one of these.
sorry dude but you don't have any idea of automotive structures. This examples is a nightmare of a crash. The A-Pillar deforms like a piece of wax. Steering wheel travels all the way inside the car. And your front wheel doesnt move under the car, it moves right in your legs crushing everything in its way.
So if you wanna die quickly, this car is one of the best ways to do
Actually, I'm known as quite an expert in cars, and can perfectly see, that the front wheel moves into the leg room of the cabin, which is fatal, if not lethal. It's just my sense of ironi, and you do seem to understand it somewhat, since you start your comment with a "lol." Clearly, there is a collapse of the cabin, seen with the buckle of the A-pillar, as you mention, and also the roof is pushed upwards and back, which just underlines the lack of structural integrity.
I know, it's a very weak structure. In most modern cars, the A-pillar barely moves an inch, and the front wheel hardly touches the foot well in a crash test.
How pathetic of you pointing out that small error. You should at least have the time and common sense and read my reply at WalkerGuitarist. You must have waaaaaay too much time on your hands, since you feel like writing dumb comments like that. Get over it and please stop crying:-D

If every country in the world had to pay China and Mexico for their cars, we'd ALL be speaking either Chinese or Spanish because they would have taken over the world by now. Do you ever watch (for example) this thing on TV they call "the News"? You should, because with the "recession" going on, there's been a lot in there car factories having to lay people off.
@DJUsive1 You are the one that doesn't get it and it is sad that you can't express without insulting. The FAQ is that Multinational Companies located in different parts around the globe chose cheap or developing countries in order to reduce costs while manufacturing. Yes they do try to assemble in home but the majority of parts are being produced in those countries. and I guess you really need to see the news. Yes there are cases like Ferrari and Bugatti who manufacture almost "by hand"
But that's not what we're arguing about is it. You stated that "All cars are fabricated in Mexico or China! even Ford BMW Nissan."
That's not the case. Yes SOME of the parts will be made in countries it's cheap to make them in, but not most because the expense of shipping the vast quantity of parts from all over the world would make most cars unaffordable to the majority of people!
They're built in the countries they're sold in, and tested to the requirements of that country.
