In his book, Manzarek says that "Jimbo" was laying down the vocal track; not Jim. He was so pilled and boozed up the sound engineer had the paramedics on phone redial, to call them as soon as Morrison passed out and hit the floor. As drunk as Morrison was, this is the track which made the album. The rhythm was off, but the passion was there... so it was a take.

For those of you simple minded thinkers, I would like to point out that had it not been for hip hop samples I would have not been exposed to music such as The Doors(My favorite band of all time), John Coltrane, Janis, Jimi, etc. I wasn't lucky enough to be born in the 60's but artists like KRS, Guru, Jay, and especially Kanye keep the old school alive. Otherwise, it would have faded by now. Good music lives because people are reminded that it exsisted. Food for thought.....
