  • @megaandreno Non... Pas assez! Punk.

  • they got the guns but we got the numbers!

  • Can someone give me other songs that have the same sound that this song has from the same generation...

  • @7GoodFellas7 When the musics over, any Doors are good, Country Joe and the Fish Cream, late Beatles, Pink Floyd and early Grateful Dead were pretty psychedelic,

  • "Waiting for the Rapture" - Oasis.....

  • @theselector actually, this came out before Oasis was even a band. this song is from the 1960s Waiting For The Rapture is from 2008. I am a big Oasis fan. and Noel Gallagher (lead guitarist for Oasis) said it himself that Waiting For The Rapture is a tribute to the doors.

  • I'll always believe Jim was talking about Vietnam. Music was the political voice of that entire generation.

  • Wonder how many ppl will be impacted by the lyrics vs. just vibing with the beat?

These lyrics are so appropriate for these times.....

Oh if Morrison was still around....what he could motivate the masses to do...

  • Is it me or 3:25 guitar solo sounds just like something Zeppelin would do?

  • @SP4LFe Hahaha I thought it myself first time i heard this!

  • C'est tu trop?

  • I liked how kanye flipped this even tho he didn't change that much of the original song

  • Take you up in the mountains andddddddddd hehehehehehe

  • You are all bunch of slaves!

  • In his book, Manzarek says that "Jimbo" was laying down the vocal track; not Jim. He was so pilled and boozed up the sound engineer had the paramedics on phone redial, to call them as soon as Morrison passed out and hit the floor. As drunk as Morrison was, this is the track which made the album. The rhythm was off, but the passion was there... so it was a take.

  • @mnpd007 Where did you read that? Wow I never heard that.

  • @mnpd007 Correct. Morrison's clearly loaded here & vocally on fire. He sounds unlike this on any other song.

  • I still don't know what I was waiting for...

  • what's the name of that the doors movie/documentary??

  • @Uare2MuchRetarded I think you're looking for "When You're Strange".

  • @pikminpicker yes! thanks:)

  • Long Live the LIZARD KING - he can do anything!

  • Ron Paul

  • @foxrod1 ron paul 2012

  • WE DONT NEED YOU, YOU NEED MORE PEOPLE

  • this is definitely my favorite

  • Oasis copied the whole track... Listen to Waiting for the Rapture

  • jayz-the takeover

  • @AYOOFOOLIN98 fail.

  • I think that today we will never see a band like this !

  • Get together one more time. :)

  • You'll Get Ur's Baby And I'll Get Mine Gonna Make It If We Try ! ~ Jim Morrison

  • "No one here gets out alive"

  • @MissAnorexorcist Also the title of a fantastic book on Jim & The Doors.

  • This shit is fire!

  • düüdüüüdüüdüdü düü düüdüü düü düü düüüüü

poor you, if you don't like it...

  • This is a good song. Didn't know anything about it til I heard Jay Z Takeover

  • "if the doors of reality were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it truly is, infinite". Jim isnt dead, there is no death. He is just the vocalist for jimi and srv in the ultimate venue. cant wait for my back stage pass

  • @blowNnugs bullshit

  • @cocobubbleable how exactly is that bullshit?

  • @blowNnugs 'Jim isnt dead, there is no death.'

  • They ETHERED this track.

  • love

  • I think iggy pop's nightclubbing owes something to this song..

  • Takeover

  • candles,smokes in a dark room,everything is poetry and a giant before me.I love u jim morrison..

  • Why would you honestly even compare Jay Z to the Doors? They're two totally different genres...

  • This track epitomises the 60s...no band would release a track where the vocalist was completely smashed today.

  • #OcuppyWallStreet, may take a week...

  • @countingdown27 shit i wanted to do that , how was it?

  • Great one!Real masterpiece,lyrics are ahhh,great!

  • Wow...Amazing song. I'm just...speechless. Wondering why can't music be this good these days...

  • Ugh....the Doors should have gotten rid of that terrible organ. Sounds so cheesy.

  • @HarpoSpoke No way! The Doors had an organ on tons of their songs. That was part of their sound!

  • @CoolerKing37 I know....yeech...hate that sound. I keep expecting clowns to start jumping out of a little car while it is playing.

  • @the penisman your a fuckin idiot for such a dumbass comment ... the doors are so amazing and this is an amazing track as well ... you don't fuckin know good music ... u idiot .... you should go and die

  • WE'RE TAKIN OVER!!!!! COME ON!!!!!!

  • Marilyn Manson Cover ftw!

  • @S0D41 I made it when I was young. This is still the worst song in the world. You should give up on life.

  • @thepenisman22 if you think it's so horrible then why are you listening to it? oh yeah, because you're a dumbass troll

  • @thepenisman22 I can tell how idiot you are just by reading your name.

  • @thepenisman22 go die in your own shit..

  • @thepenisman22 huh i should make a youtube account with the name penis in the name......get out of your mom's basement

  • They've got the guns but we've got the numbers............ that line caught me the first time I listened to this song. For many people, they only care how they found the song. I care about the lyrics, composition, and the pure talent presented before me. Long live the Doors........

  • @1973ziggystardust yeah me too! but what does that sentence mean to you (they've got the guns but we've got the numbers)? I don't quite get the meaning behind it...

  • @punkymaus Well, "They've Got the Guns, But We've Got The Numbers" is a reference to the counterculture movement of the 60's(if I'm not mistaken) and or the war in Vietnam. To me, this song is against the basic rule of society, which is why I love it sooooooooooo much :D

  • @1973ziggystardust wow...thank you for your answer.:D it made me love the song even more.

  • @1973ziggystardust well doesn't that make you special.

  • @cocobubbleable Having a different way of appreciating songs doesn't make me special. Its just how I have always related to songs.

  • @1973ziggystardust

who bets that everyone who mentioned the line with the word 'guns' in it is a man child or a teenage boy?

  • @cocobubbleable First of all, I am a girl, second of all, I wasn't mentioning the line because of guns, I was mentioning it because of the meaning of uprising against authority, and how powerful that can be in life.

  • @1973ziggystardust It Was A Joke.

  • @cocobubbleable Haha, I know I just wanted to clarify that I am not one of those people who love guns.

  • @1973ziggystardust i know thats what its about right ialways say that too if only jim was still here he would know how much his music was understood and really loved

  • @1973ziggystardust That line always got me as well, together with the very enticing music and Jim's raw singing, this is definitely a kind of battle song ;)

  • @syntaxius I'm glad to see there are people who see what I see in this song :D

  • Well I can clearly see that no one down here actually is going to listen to the music and will instead argue with one another over music.

    enjoy, fags.

  • thumps up if you as king lizard will break on throught to the other site

  • They got the guns but we got the numbers

  • well I be damned this is where the song She by Kiss came from, sounds to much the same to me but maybe i'm wrong.

  • @Eddie2446 You are right....Ace freely admits he stole much of the solo from this song for his solo on SHE.

  • i heard this awesome song from gta

  • i know this song from gtatbogt

  • This song is unreal wen ur having a few beers does have the place hopping and for that i thank u JIM MORRISON

  • I don't get what people are complaining about. This is a great song and Kanye is a great producer who sampled it to make another great song.

  • This is a site for video dipstick, so many boring bullshit clips like this, I can listen to my Cd! Come on!

  • fuck kanye west

  • @ChrisHominski who is that?

  • fun song fact ray sings backing vocals in this song and also ray would sing live if jim was to fucked up to sing

  • I saw this group in Cleveland in 1969. What a show!

  • jesus christ this is nasty.

  • the doors is gay

  • @MyJaar and why do u say that. u cunt

  • @MyJaar

    haha ...you are ._.

  • @MyJaar SHUT THE FUCK UP WHORE!

  • @MyJaar Poor troll is poor.

  • this dude was a drunken sage....rare gem that entered and left this world!

  • reminds me of James Brown

  • The ratio of non pot smokers to pot smokers, young to old, white to black, and in the United States, and Vietnamese to Americans in Vietnam that year.

  • thumbs up if you would rather chill with Jim Morrison than Lil Wayne

  • @ajsledzep You need to die to chiil with Morrison.

  • @ajsledzep whos lil wayne?

  • @ajsledzep THUMBS UP INFINITY ;)

  • @ajsledzep Who's "Lil Wayne?"

  • @ajsledzep you might end up with his face in yo lap!

  • @ajsledzep Yeah, well if Jim Morrison was still around he rather hang out with Lil Wayne than any of you. So, there's that.

  • @IYAMNI And how do you know that?

  • @GrizzleWTG Because since Morrison wasn't a douche he probably wouldn't hang with one...? But seriously, he was getting bagged for his music by the same kind of snobs who are baggin on new music now. Same breed, different age. If there had been a YouTube back then some dick would have written "thumbs up if you'd rather chill with Mel Torme than Jim Morrison" and thought he was being cool too.

  • Brothers for Life. Lost Forever.

  • who is 'Jay Z' really never heard oh him or her till now?

  • For those of you simple minded thinkers, I would like to point out that had it not been for hip hop samples I would have not been exposed to music such as The Doors(My favorite band of all time), John Coltrane, Janis, Jimi, etc. I wasn't lucky enough to be born in the 60's but artists like KRS, Guru, Jay, and especially Kanye keep the old school alive. Otherwise, it would have faded by now. Good music lives because people are reminded that it exsisted. Food for thought.....

  • @DiamondDesignsDC ....this isnt the case for the vast majority of people watching this stuff man. I love the doors and led zeppelin, and sabbath, and hendrix, and sooo many more of these bands because I hated all the new school shit that came along. I gave it a try, but this stuff spoke to me more. I am not trying to take away from what you said, but you need to realize that what happened to you is a rare occurrence (and by the way...welcome to the club) among most listeners of those artists.

  • @DiamondDesignsDC "Kanye keep[s] the old school alive. Otherwise it would have faded by now"

WHAT?! it's called influence and thievery. These are the artists that will never die because they wrote amazing music at a point in history when the world needed it most. They were writing a revolution, not just music. This is why they are are referenced throughout time. Not because Kanye is "good enough" to know they are worth referencing/sampling/raping. No son, you are the "simple minded thinker."

  • @DiamondDesignsDC So yo got exposed to the door through hip hop rather than through some other mechanism and now you want everyone to give a shit? Yeah thanks. heres is a billion dollar of dont give a shit. I think you missed the point though I am happy you liked the tune.

  • @DiamondDesignsDC And not a single fuck was given...

  • @DiamondDesignsDC what country are you from??? better yet what planet??? o.0

  • @DiamondDesignsDC That's all well and good, but most of the modern rappers suck horribly, KRS-one is good though. Want to listen to some good modern rap? Check out Greydon Square, Sweatshop Union, and Blue Scholars.

  • @DiamondDesignsDC Thanx for saying that. I used to think only classical & jazz fans were snobs, but I was naive.

  • GTA4!

  • i lost my virginity to this song hahaha true story

  • I didnt even know Jay z had done anything with this song until I came here. I can only imagine he did nothing but fucking murder it.

  • Screw Kanye West. Take some of this from The Doors, some from KRS-One and pass it to a young audience on the streets who might not have heard their music and then act l like I am a genius. Yeah I credited The Doors and KRS-One in the album but who is going to go through the itsy-bitsy credits.

  • @walterreallyy who is kanye west

  • Awesome!

  • who the hell is Jay Z??

  • Your ballroom days are over baby!

  • damn! heavy song!

  • Huge fan of Jay-Z and The Doors! Both great songs! Thumbs up if you don't have any prejudiced biases.

  • @DocFaust Nice try

  • @DocFaust True that, both legends in their own respects!

  • R.I.P Jim

  • I remember the first time I heard this. My boyfriend mouthed the words "I love my girl...she's looking good." Sex ensued.

  • Just before the last verse in the song, you can hear the recording studio staff say ''One more'' to Jim. It seems he was so drunk during the recording, he couldnt remeber when to contine/stop

Bonus points if you know whats part of the lyrics and whats just drunk rambling.

  • Your ballroom days!!! - ARE OVER!!!!

    Get off the FLOOR! ~

  • YOur Ballroom days are over- get off the floor-

don't come walking near me- "you fucking Hore!!!"

  • get together yyayyayaagettogetheryayayayyagahahahaahahahgyahahyahayha

  • five to one, baby one and five, no one here gets out alive....let the idiot children singing today write something like THAT and deliver it. not gonna happen buddy. they don't posses the TALENT or the SOUL. all they have is ridiculous costumes and chaos of video. they suck and shoud not be seen or heard, ever.

  • @maryspinker they also don't have the education previous generations did. can't get whatever soul you do have out in an effective way without the education.

  • R.O.C....we runnin that rap shit!

  • SMH. Completely ripping off a Jay-Z song AND an Oasis song??? Jim Morrison is pathetic.

  • @Luchini731 umm ya right Morrison was a genius and I say was because hes been dead almost 40 years

  • This is such a Rip Off of the Oasis Song, Waiting For The Rapture. A poor Rip Off

  • @ObamaSoundsLikeOsama I hope you're being terribly sarcastic, or else you're just in idiot. This song was released in 1968, and Oasis recorded Waiting For The Rapture in 2008. Learn your music.

  • @89cheapmonday Added: 2 years ago. Waiting for the rapture was written 3 years ago! I WIN!

  • @ObamaSoundsLikeOsama I said "recorded" not "written." For all you know, Waiting For The Rapture was written a day before they went into the studio anyway, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

  • @89cheapmonday i almost fell outta my seat when i read his comment too. thanks for checking him.. saying it was a rip off of Oasis... get outta here lol

  • They sound like Jay-Z (jk).

  • Unbelievable how much Oasis shamelessly ripped this off

  • talks about jacking off??

  • i listen to this like everyday. ahhh.

  • So much like Oasis - Waiting for the Rapture

  • @abelmaster fool,the doors were first

  • @princenrojb fool, I didn't say they weren't, did I...
