I have no idea, but the announcements sound dodgey. Hopefully when the new stock comes in on the Piccadilly Line, Emma Clarke will do the announcements. I hate the look of the new S stock though.
@DeanieBoi07 thank you! I hate the S Stock SO much! I refuse to travel on it (I wait for an A Stock!) Do you also hate the '09 Stock Victoria Line? That and the S Stock are my 2 most hated trains!! London Underground isn't what it used to be! :'(
@56tvwatcher To be honest, I don't have any problems with the 09 stock other than the fact the train motors kept overheating causing it to be ridiculously hot on the trains. I think that problem has been resolved now. I just hate the concept of one long train and no seperate carriages.
@DeanieBoi07 yeah, i mean ive been nearly cooked on the 09 stock! :D i really dont like the screeching sound when the train pulls in and the speed they come in at.
@No1RailwayEnthusiast haha yeah, imagine, "next A Stock train- never" shame, The London underground will not be what it used to be,
but to be honest I'm more of a fan towards British Rail, or National Rail, I prefer those trains, as it will be a very long time till the good trains such as the Class 313, 321, 319 and InterCity 125/225 wil be gone!!!!
@56tvwatcher Yeah I love the A stock and will defo miss them, however despite at first not warming to the S stock I think I am beginning to accept them :)
@No1RailwayEnthusiast although, IMHO i think the best tube stocks are the Northern Line 1995 and Jubilee Line 1996, they won't be OOS (Out of service) until a good 40 years or so!
I don't understand, why can't they just refurbish the A Stocks, I mean, they've kept the 1938 Stock running for heritage runs,
and I mean, there are British Rail Classes that are running and have been for so long, such as the old slamdoor trains, InterCity's..
@56tvwatcher I agree with u in the sense that they are not life expired, but Met Line is 1 of the lines that suffer the most delays and has some of the oldest infrastructure so new trains were needed
@No1RailwayEnthusiast I certainly agree with you there, i mean, nothing lasts forever! And yes, the Metropolitan Line has suffered a lot of delays, but if you were to ask me, "which do i prefer, the S Stock or the '09 Stock?" I would say "S Stock!" So, at least the Metropolitan line is staying around!
But, on the other hand, there are a few things I like of the S Stock, 1 are the fold down seats, 2. the Door opening siren, 3. the Push-button door, 4. walkthrough carriages like a British Rail!
@56tvwatcher I prefer the S stock as the 09 has a horrible screeching sound and the fact that they replaced the 67 stock. I like the look from the outside of the S stock, the only thing I don't like is the fact that they will be used on all sub surface lines, when I liked the fact that each line had its individuality, soon that won't be the case :(
@No1RailwayEnthusiast yeah, I mean when I think of the metropolitan line, I see the A Stock, and the same with all other lines, I mean, the 1967 Victoria Line stock, that was replaced TOO early (47 or so years) the A Stock is running after 50 years!
But if you listen to the A Stock when it accelerates, you can hear the train creaking under stress! I still remember the day, being at Euston and the 09 stock came in and I thought "where's the 67 stock?" Was a big shock and I took a big dislike!!!!

I like ther next station announcements-is it Emma Clarke?
I have never seen an empty tube carriage in all my life!!!-makes a change!
The new train is excellent-especcially the interior.
CoachAlex1996 2 years ago
Yeah, the voice is Emma Clarke :-)
The only line she doesn't do is the Piccadilly.
DeanieBoi07 2 years ago
shame-it's stupid the way the voiceover on the piccadilly says hiss is instead of this is. Whats up with that???

why?
CoachAlex1996 2 years ago
Why do I hate the S stock? It looks massive, the cab looks horrible and it just doesn't look right.
DeanieBoi07 2 years ago
it does look massive, but do so does the Berliner U-Bahn BVG H01 look to the other trains sugh as the BVG F90
I like the D stock better though!
CoachAlex1996 2 years ago
I agree. The D stock is the District Line in my view.
DeanieBoi07 2 years ago
same-the district line wouldn't be the district line without the D stock
CoachAlex1996 2 years ago
Agreed
