Actually there's a slightly better way of dealing with this boss.

See the little space on either end of the room below tube 1 & 5... there's enough clearance to avoid the boss so you don't really have to run around guessing where he'll drop. You can just sit back, relax and prepare to jump as soon as he drops down. Then you can follow the same routine of jumping over his shell and then stomp the shxt out of him quite effortlessly, even unequipped.

oh my god, so i was playing the world 2 for the WHOLE day and then i had only one life left, and this level seemed SO EASY but i got killed by the bowser cuz i didn't know what to do.. :( so now i have to start from the middle castle all over again!

To get to the first coin you have to choose the "wrong path" so you head back to the beginning. The whole level is like a labirinth. (The last castle of Super Mario Bross 1 (1986) was allready with a maze like this butt even more difficult)
