has this review taken place around springwood road / hawkesbury road between springwood and richmond and the end of the video at the nepean river penrith?
I own a Manual GTD and i have to say that DSG box doesn't do the car any justice, the manual GTD is much more responsive and a whole different car to drive. Overall i think its a brilliant car.
There are some tradeoffs with the diesel that aren't mentioned here. NVH (noise, vibration and harshness), reliability and emissions. The hybrid will be a lot quieter and a lot cleaner than the diesel, more fitting for something like a luxury hatchback. The CT also has the Prius powertrain which has proven to be exceptionally reliable, can't say the same for the VW diesel. Then of course there is the emissions, you buy hybrids for their lack of pollution as much as you do for their economy.
At least you're honest by using the word 'greenish'. My opinion, if you care about the environment you buy a Golf Bluemotion, Ford Econetic, or Polo 77TDI. Greenish-drivers-car is an oxymoron.
I don't know what you guys wanted to achieve, but the Golf GTD (diesel GTI equivalent) is great for years, and the Lexus is just a Toyota posh box for a lot of money. Even the 1.6 tdi Golf is great compared...

VW Golf family is something you cannot find anywhere else. I drove Lexus in the past and now I'm a VW driver.

While I like the style of the Lexus, I prefer the diesel engine used in the Golf GTD.
