Hi, great pickups I have 2 sets of the PRails on 2 guitars. I want to share something with you, I installed mine differently (the P90 facing each other, inside coil and the Rails outside further apart)
and the rails sounds much better more Telecaster twang sound!
The P90 sounds almost the same as stock installation but the Rails are much much better.
But that is my own taste when using the PRails set. Try it you might like it too! Cheers.
That's a beautiful guitar, man. I ordered a P-rail and am going to do the same thing to my strat. I'm wanting to drop the p-rails into the bridge like you, but put the 3-way toggle in the place of the bridge tone pot, and have the leftover tone knob have dominion over all pickups.
@Gouki87 Seymour Duncan.com has a diagram for the prails in a Les Paul style guitar. I used that only i just took the signal wire that would have went to the 3-way switch and put it where the my bridge pickup would go.
when you wire both coils of a humbucker in parallel, it gives you a brighter tone with less volume, this is not a PAF style tone since the standard wiring of a vintage PAF humbucker is in series.
Hey great video but I notice that your #4 position (around 8 minutes in) is out of phase with your middle pickup. That's why the sound is thin and tinny regardless of whether the P90 or Rail coil is selected. Current Fender single coils are out of phase with Seymour Duncan. The best fix for this (since you already have the P-Rails wired to the mini toggle) is to reverse the hot and ground on the Fender single coils. That will make your #4 position more usable and familiar sounding.
Hrm...Im looking for Nirvana/Foo Fighters/Queens of the Stone Age/Killing Joke/punk sound...shall i take hot rails or these?I want to be able to do stuff with good, but heavy distortion and a lot of feedback..hot rails or this p/u?what about Hot for Strat from SD for bridge?

I like the PRails, but they only seem usable for hotter pushed tones. I wish they could be backed off and used for some clean tones.
You did mount it in the best place for your Strat since you can really pop n the bridge position for solos.
Nice vid.

@IPushHard You should try putting a coil tap (not coil split) on the prails you have to bring it down for some clean stuff. Thanks for watching.
