For those of you non-japanese speakers, Giygas is the same character in Mother and Earthbound. In Mother and Mother 2 he is called Gyiyg, there is no name change as some people say there is. It was a translation error. But anyhow, this song will always make me cry tears of confusion, hope, and love.

I always thought the mother series was great.

Children braving forth on a long and arduous journey; fighting against evil. Only to find themselves in a dark place alone with no support from any one and the only thing they have to protect themselves is the power they feel from the trust they built over the journey.

Almost sounds like the movie it.....maybe not, but it does sound similar.

Giegue was enraged, still, at Ninten's great-grandfather for harnessing the power of PSI, his species' own power.

Giygas was simply attempting to avoid his own destruction by killing Ness before Ness could kill HIM.

Porky just wanted to be alone, although, in the words of Adonaut, "He got what he wanted in the end."

Maybe I'm reading way to into it, but I always felt there was a Freudian aspect of "Mother". Giygas represents the out of touch, embittered, adult super ego, and Ninten and his friends represent the inner child struggling to remain relevant in a very harsh grown up world.

because giegue got so powerfull that he went insane. Not only that, this power modified his body, as the body by itself was destroyed, the only thig that left of gieggue was his "soul", and since his mind was completly destroyed, his soul was suffering.

No body, no mind, and a corrupted soul, the weird face makes sense. actually, for me, gyigas isn't even a being, he grew so strong that he's an complete alterneted universe.

Gigue turned into giygas after he trained his powers so much that they became so overwelming he couldnt handle them anymore, they ripped his body appart and turned him into a red soul. He also soon lost his mind after he turned into this, making him basicaly a completely new character. He is not evil anymore but rather not away of what he is doing anymore, beeing unable to think clearly and left in his pain and madness
