Hello,I delivered milk (Unigate) to the Lintons from 1975 to 1978 it took in its heyday about 180 pints of milk to do the building.one day the lifts were not working so did the deliverys by foot i think there was 8 floors but of corse i was young then! one of the occupants wasn't letting someone in there flat, so he blasted the door away with a shot gun. alas thought it was time to leave Barking and move to rural Sussex. But i still have happy memories .
My grandparents moved in to the Lintons when they first opened in the 1960's. My nan didn't leave until just before they were torn down, a few years ago. Sad to see them go because of memories, but the Lintons needed to go.
thanks for these they are amazing. grew up in barking (thames view) and left about 7 years ago, not been back since and cant believe how much its changed.

I'm from Barking and lived on the Thames View Estate - was amazed to read that the original flats on Abridge Way are (or already have been) demolished and regenerated!! I'm very proud of the area and will visit again one day...
I do indeed, I lived in Barking or rather Upney for over 28 years in Sandringham Road. Was very handy as I lived just across the road from my school! :)
The music for this one almost makes it seem all very errie!
best thing they ever did when they tore down the lintons estate...hated that place, got mugged there when i was a kid. great pic of it being built. where on earth did you find that pic?

Thanks Parkey, the photos come from own archive. Do you have a Barking connection?

@theparkey ,
Gasgoine was very bad, but now its much safer than before they are demolishing those blocks, barking is going through big changes.
