  • Awesome!

  • løl_ì_fÊêl_so_lonêlÿ_t0ÐåY

  • Now that's a drum machine!!

  • Hey I'm in Computer Programming 1 in high school, and I'm currently learning Java. I'd like to know if you have basically taken what I am learning and created this amazing program. I'd also like to know how you did it and how you programmed the wii motes to control this. This is awesome from what I've seen, great job.

  • I like Pat Metheny's idea and use of solenoids better. It is controled by what notes are played on his guitar and what note lengths or groupings/key changes. Anybody can just push a button and hey.... You only have 2 thumbs....... Such a shame this is replacing a talented group of percussionists and musicians with decades each of playing and performing experience at one of the Disney theme parks in Fl... :(

  • Come baby Asian ladies **lushfmlk.info**

  • SUBSCRIBED! I'm planing on trying to do something tangentially similar, which would involve a very different control method, but still use remote triggering of sounds via solenoids - I've looked through your blog article(s) but can't find any info on which solenoids you use / where you source them? Are there particular specs I should be looking out for / anything to be aware of?

  • his personality is cartoon villain

  • Here's a really novel idea: Why not just actually learn to *play* these instruments?!

  • @GSChecora He doesn't have that many hands man. I saw him at a festival the other day. He plays with two remotes what would otherwise require four people

  • easier just to play the bongo with your hands

  • Epic awesomeness!!!!!11eleven!!!!

  • Pure. Fucking. Genius.

  • you, sir, look high as shit.

  • jazari,this is pure talent.

i build machines too,but your system is artistic and technical. pure genius.

    awesome

  • yer thats all well and good but i think what we all want to know is can you actually play ANYTHING that sounds good?

  • Thats so way beyond cool

  • very clever

  • LEGEND... FUCKING... DARY!!!!!!

  • Nothing short of incredible, so impressed. And it seems like you've got room on the Wii Remotes to expand with even further control - assuming the Yaw and IR measures are unused and not too clumsy.

  • I don't know what I should say! This is just amazing!

  • it's off beat

  • Well, what should i add to all this positive comments.... it´s simply great.

  • wow this is awesome!!!

    Great job man....great job.

  • Best Wii game ever :)

  • i love it and the way its made out of shelfs and old furniture looks like it was made for the drum bot yay

  • I'm sold. Give this man his own TED conference apperance.

  • Please work with Nintendo on the next Wii Music! (if there ever is another one). This is precisely the element the "game" was missing! All the best, great work!

  • This is awesome!

  • Thats so cool!!

  • This is absolutely AmAzInG!!! Haha, look at at his face change between 1:10 and 1:14 (; Do you think this could be done digitally???

  • @Garadonce what the hell are you talking about?

  • Your band is awesome,... until it becomes self aware.

  • So fuckin awesome on so many levels. This man is a god amongst men!

  • um...wow.

  • an impressive fusion of percussion and technology. the improvisational feature is particularly wild. great work.

  • Yeah

  • Awesome

  • that is sooooooo sick :) much better than using the wiimotes to play wii :p

  • the improv feature is really cool

  • Genius! Someone get this guy a banana! NAW!!!

    HE NEEDS HIS POTASSIUM!!!!

  • Awesome, it's some really good use of the Wiimote, I love the flicking feature to adjust tempo =D

It could be cool to have somekind of WiiWare game like this =P

  • Patrick, you need to deinterlace this video before uploading and export as progressive to get rid of those nasty scanlines.

    Very cool stuff, though :)

  • Stunning! =)

  • Very inspirational!!!!

  • how did you make the software to control it?

  • the answer is way too long to post here. most of the work is done by Java externals i wrote for max/msp. i wrote an overview of the flow of control on my blog in a post called "for the gear heards."

  • You are a true Renaissance Man.

  • kewl

  • mind is blown

  • sick

  • Probably one of the more unique utilizations of the wiimote so far.

  • You rock, dude! Ditto on the max patch. hehe...

I need to get my wiimote working... But seriously - that's an awesome vision you've realized Patrick. Great job!

  • wooooooooooooow...

  • share the max patch ! :D
