  • Kimbers are very good guns! People like to cry about the price but I'll put it too u like this, cheap guns aren't good, good guns aren't cheap!!!

  • good pistols but all i saw were cops in the vedio. and they dont count in my book, most people arnt cops i love the 1911 but theres a bigger market in the privet sector then cops

  • @gpuckit check 1911forums, the Kimber is one of the most popular LEO carry 1911s

  • Eat that Nutnfancy!

  • I'm watching this video with the youtube 1911 button mode on. :)

  • what a bunch of crock............!!!! KIMBER

  • I have the tactical elite pro, and it is a great gun (after the breakin period of course). A very good gun... but I still like my glock 20 and 32 much better.

  • and just remember, you guys that want a 400 dollar 1911...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!..if you want some pistol made in a sweat shop in singapore or garage in brazil.....you go right ahaid!!...i like when people buy cheap guns,it just makes me sleep that much easier knowing if your the guy pulling it on me at the gas station for my money,,,i got a better chance of walking away with my money and my life with my kimber pro raptor on my side while your on the groud with your JAMMED forign gun!!!

  • @crambone219 Some people dont have $1000+ to spend on a 1911. I sure didnt and I ended up purchasing a Taurus PT1911B1. Great gun! (once I put an Ed Brown extractor and Nighthawk magazines in it) :-)

  • why is it common folk dont understand when you buy a top of the line 1911 you have to shoot it a couple hundred rounds to break it in??..tolerences are very tight, and 1911 pistols often are finicy about magazines,,,and certain ammo.

i had a dan wesson 10mm that did this stuff to me for a bit, then after a certain short break in time,it was the most dependable pistol one could want.

  • I call BULL SH*&T when they claim dependable. I spent 1200 dollars on my first kimber 1911. FIRST shot JAM!! Out of 50 rounds of winchester 30 round either FTF, Stove pipes, or jammed. Dependable my butt. Had to send it back to Kimber who was a total butt to me on the phone. 3 months later and out of 100 rounds I will get stove pipe still. Their older guns were great but their new stuff is a laughing joke.

  • @Datsrboi

And yes I have been shooting for years. I know how to hold my gun and I do not limp wrist to cause the stove pipe.

  • @Datsrboi some of these posts crack me up. you people do realize that half of these videos and magazine articles about ANY GUN is pretty much an infomercial for THAT GUN, right?

sucks that you have had trouble with your Kimber but some times things just go bad as with any mechanical objects.

  • Want a M1911 45 ACP with ALL the extras, for $420.00 NIB?? Check out the Metro Arms "AMERICAN CLASSIC II"......Wow what a gun. Fit,finish and reliability are outstanding and shes made in the Philipines! Get one before the folks find out how SWEET these are! Keep all those Kimbers, Ill just buy LOTS of ammo with the difference in price!A gun store here has one and they already want $550 for it.....move fast!

  • This video did its job, I'm getting a kimber. I went from 6 to midnight watching this vid

  • Too bad their customer service and quality control is shitty. Id rather go Springfield.

  • Sig > Kimber hahaha i want me a custom pro carry tho!! lol

  • I'm brain washed for Kimber now! Kimber, Kimber, Kimber. A Kimber 1911! The choice of the Law enforcemant, the US military! Kimber Pistols! Kimber the Choice for personal protection. Kimber, Kimber, Kimber! It is a nice gun though. Kimber!

  • I also find Kimber's quality control to be very poor. I had three friends who all went out and bought new TLE II pistols. Two of those friends had rust on their barrels, sent the guns back and got new guns. Their customer service is also not that great as compared to other 1911 makers like Springfield or Smith & Wesson.

  • Never had a Kimber. I just think they are overpriced for what you are getting. For the kind of money one would spend on a Kimber, I'd just as soon save a little more and go after a Les Baer. I usually stick by Springfield. I've had Springfields for awhile now and none of them have ever let me down. My only other 1911 that is not a Springfield is my Series 70 Colt Gold Cup National Match.

  • Safe: Except for the guy you were pointing it at

  • us military uses M9 pistols

  • @shittyfuck - There are some parts of the US military that still uses 1911s. Special Forces has a 1911 called the MEU SOC. Which is a Kimber Desert Warrior, with modifications to attach a laser aiming module, and a threaded barrel for a silencer. They also have the Springfield Armory MC Operator. These pistols both replaced the H&K Mark 23 SOCOM is US Special Forces when H&K discontinued the Mark 23 in 2006.

  • colt is widely used in delta force for its acuracy ???

    am i right

and the M9 is used widely in teh sas

  • @defplayryalpfed army uses the m9, i think sas uses sig ...

  • @defplayryalpfed 1911's are still used by the Force Recon Marines, I don't know about delta force. Lexmark is right, SAS uses Sig. By the way, the 1911's that force recon uses are built on the frames of pistols from the end of WWII. That's durability.

  • @Grav251 naahh the sas use teh M9 i just read a manul from the sas and it has pages whiuch tell you what guns they use

    The mp5 G36 and the m9

  • @defplayryalpfed when did they start using the M9? I'm pretty sure everything I've read said they used the P226. I'll have to check it out too. I know more about U.S Militaria than I do about the Brits that's for sure

  • @Grav251 well ive read chris ryans sas book all about waht guns they use

the m9 has a high reliablity its also easy toi concill in your clothes so its the right type of gun for counter terrro ops or undrcother

  • @defplayryalpfed - Nobody really knows about many of the weapons used by Delta Force since Delta Force is a covert operations force. One they do use is the HK416. I was told that DF is allowed to build their own sidearms personally.

The M9 is used by the US military in most of their units. Some MPs still use the 1911 in regular US military.

The SAS's main sidearm is the SIG Sauer P226/P220.

  • no doubt he was, gaston glock cant be far behind him though.

  • Other brands are good too but Kimber Gold Match is my favourite.

  • I had to laugh when they said, "[Kimbers] sell for the price of most production brands." BS!!!

  • @Kopis1911 Well, if you're talking about american production 1911's, it's true. Of course the phillipino 1911's are cheaper, but you get what you pay for. I own 4 phillipino 1911's, but I did all the custom work on them myself so they're as reliable as a kimber. Most people don't have the tools or the knowledge so they would end up spending more on customizing a phillipino 1911 than they would buying a Kimber. I also own a Dan Wesson and never had to change a thing to make it work perfect.

  • @gblpst81 Im not sure what you mean by "philipino 1911's." Ill just asume your talking about overseas produced 1911's. I agree that some 1911's are more reliable/better than others and that this difference may exist along a price fault. However, friends of mine who own Kimbers are not impressed with their preformance in comparison to their other, cheaper 1911's. Contrary to what this ad is saying, the majority of 1911s out there do not run nearly as close to the average Kimber.

  • @Kopis1911 Most of the "budget" 1911's are Armscor (rebranded as Rock Island Armory, Citadel, High Standard, etc.) that are built in the Philipines and imported to Nevada. The other major philipino manufacturer is Metroarms in Manila and they are rebranded American Classic in the states. Most of these sell from about $450-700. Of course, there are the Brazilian Taurus 1911's that get mixed reviews and start at $700. Very few American 1911's sell for under $1000. 1911's just take a lotta labor.

  • @gblpst81 - Same here. I had the Rock Island M1911A1, and then bought another one just like it and did a bunch of custom modification on it until I had it built and adjusted just right that I could shoot about 1 1/2" groups at 50 yards. I also have a Springfield GI model that I have about $2,000 worth of custom work into.

  • Kimbers are over priced for what they are whether it be their rifles or pistols. Just because While Kimbers are in the upper echelons of 1911 they are not the best. Look at the S&w 1911, Paras, Springfield and Colt (the original), are all cheaper and arguably better pistols. In this infomercial Kimber claims unique size for the Ultras... Para was offering the same before Kimber got around to it.

  • @deusimperator Do you own a Kimber? I have a Colt, A Springfield And a Kimber.Kimber is the nicest with the Colt 2nd. They are beautiful guns.Spend the afternoon with one then comment back:)

  • @MrSniper62

Own 13 1911 type pistols at present. Owned 3 Kimbers have 2 left. (eclipse, custom, aegis) owned 3 paras, 2 Springfields, 4 colts 1 norinco (crap), 2 AMTs , S&W performance center, 2 Clark custom, RRA, Auto ordnance, 2 LBC, and a couple of others. Spent many an afternoon with them. My S&W beats all the Kimbers and is feature rich. A little tweaking and paras, colts and springfields will beat out Kimbers for less money spent. It is a question of what you get for your money.

  • @MrSniper62

I have a kimber and one of my friends has a para and another has a springfield. The 'fit and finish' of the kimber is clearly better. I'm also more accurate with my 3" kimber than the 5" para. Now that is probably because I'm use to my kimber but still surprising.

  • kimber is a great brand

but there is no need to talk bad about other pistols

i guess its just a typical american ad

  • Nice vid. FYI, free ammo giveway if you haven't heard: HPRammo

  • John Browning was a genious.

  • @shasha1873 i think Samuel Colt was better.

  • @shasha1873 .....And Kimber was foolish enough to try and improve JMB's design with an external extractor. EPIC FAIL. :-)

  • @waterfordjim That is very true. I think they are not doing that anymore. They have their shit together now.

  • i would have thought a colt 1911 is the best and most known in the world.

  • I love how people sit here and compare glocks and kimbers. saying if it's not a glock it's a piece of shit. IDIOT. have you ever shot a springfield xd or a sig p229? definately not pieces of shit. and about the arguement between glocks and kimbers: that's like comparing a rice rocket and a harley. two completely different animals. it's all in what you're going for. i find a kimber much more comfortable to hold and shoot. it's all personal preference. btw...my kimber only cost me $930.

  • You're not a glock so I guess you're a piece of shit............

  • @kaos3124 HA HA HA, you're so funny.

  • If your motivating factor is "Cheap & Reliable", then get a HI -POINT!!! Heck, you can get 8 or 10 of them for the price of ONE Kimber...They are JUST AS UGLY, BUT FUNCTIONAL as a Glock.....and at a Fraction of the price as a Glock....

1911's Look AMAZING and have been proven for a LONG TIME!

Polymer Guns look like CRAP, but are ALSO PROVEN!

    IT'S ALL ABOUT INDIVIDUAL TASTE.....

  • I like my Kimber a lot (its 9mm) but they are ridiculously expensive. New pistol designs do look chunky but are the exact same width as a 1911 for a given caliber (1.28" for a .45). Glocks are just as reliable, if not more so, then 1911's (look at Chuck Taylor's test, 100,000 rounds). If you think the fact that it has a polymer frame has anything to do with stopping power you really are an idiot. 9mm has been shown to be 91% effective and .45 is 94%...a guy was shot w/ 8 .45's and lived.

  • 1911s are expensive because they have mystique and history on their side. The people who make 1911s pretty much decided to KEEP the price high. That about it.

Rather have 2 Glocks then one 1911, some cases you could have 3 Glocks. 1911s are for snobs and people who waste money by default.

  • @GibbedHGR YES BEACUSE I WANT A CHEAP PLASTIC TOY GUN :)

  • Not sure what you're saying BUT...

Anyone who thinks a Glock is a toy or "not very powerful" is welcome to put one in their mouth and try it. :)

One .45acp is not more powerful then another (uh duh) what's more POWERFUL is the brand recognition and slick marketing thats taken hold of your mind! Ya know, the same thing that forces you to buy all that crap YOU see on tv.

  • @GibbedHGR no i meant glock uses plastic (polymer) alot and there chunky

  • @GibbedHGR I agree, most 1911s are very pricey, but some brands offer 1911s for quite decent prices.

Para ordnance, Norinco, etc. I know some people think that those brands are of bad quality, but I've put close to 2 cases of .45acp (2000 rounds) through my Norinco 1911 and it has jammed a total of zero times. One misfire due to a bad primer - not a gun issue.

  • Kimber makes some nice guns but for the price??? They are all around $1000, I love my Glock that i got for $500. Why are most model 1911 pistols so damn expensive?

  • Because they're awesome.

  • Well so are Glock's but they are half the price.

  • Because they are ugly, made of plastic and not very powerful.

  • look at springfield armory 1911's they have some for around 550 and all reviews of them are extremely positive.

  • Went and took the safty course to get a license to carry, I took a LLAMA .45 and my friend took his Kimber .45, the 3rd shot I fired with the LLAMA it jammed, it did that every 3rd or fourth shot, so I used my friends Kimber, 50 rounds NO PROBS AT ALL, and scored 100% on shooting the target, shooting @ 5,10,15, and 20 yards, I WIL get me a Kimber in the coming weeks.

  • have both...love my glock, its 9mm....17 shot and very reliable.NOW i have to go with the .45 Kimber Custom 2,with chip Mcormick 10 round mags to make up the difference in fire power. Accuracy and ease of follow up shot, highly doubtful with a .45,especially a Kimber....no question...KIMBER .45 ACP

  • Shiver me Kimbers!

  • I have a glock and a kimber both are great. However I think you get what you pay for. For instance a glock is like camaro z28 lt1 and the kimber would be a porsche 911 turbo. There just isnt any comparing the two.

  • Yeah a Glock is more utilitarian, nobody wants to scratch up there Kimber.

  • over priced with the slick marketing that usually goes with such products :)

    Glock ftw

  • Retarded. Who wants an ugly plastic gun that won't stop anyone unless you shoot them in the head.

  • ....you obviously have no experience with real firearms....

  • Actually I do. If you did you would know many police officers stopped using 9mm because they wouldn't stop suspects in all cases. Secondly, a gun made of composite plastic materials have a harder recoil and make you less accurate, fact.

  • Kimbers are just way over priced.

  • true that

  • the production cost of this video is why kimbers are so expensive.....

  • i have 2 kimbers and i love them .

  • nice...im putting some serious thought into them. i was originally planning on buying a cannon of some sort be it .44mag or .50 AE or S&W but i love the 1911. such a classic pistol look and with ctc grips it would be an excellent home defence unit. are the raptor models available with lasergrips?

  • Yes they are. You can also purchase the lazer grips for any of their 1911's.

  • 50 AE bullets are hard to find unless you're ordering ammo online, at least in my town. 1911 is a good choice.

  • only If i had 1000 bucks.

Maybe I'll buy one when i have a career and shit

This will be my mid life crisis present for myself

  • i want an ultra cdp 2 for my conceal carry.

  • jesus DID shoot a 1911....

you think a 9mil could blow through a big ol' rock covering the door? HELL NO 45 ACP's blew that shit apart!

  • Jesus would shoot a 1911.

  • Jesus blessed John Browning thus leading to 1911's ;D

  • Glocks are a good gun no doubt but I prefer the 1911. The big square plastic wonder-chunks that are so popular today leave me cold, I want a piece of steel in my hand with a thumb safety and a crisp single action trigger.

  • Kimbers can leave you cold too. cold dead lol. But seriously I love a good 1911 but kimbers are too expensive for no more gun than they are. I can find plenty of 1911 copies that are just as good as a kimber but are half the cost or less. Most of the copies you find dont have night sights but they arent hard to find either. and while they have a thumb safety, I choose to never use it. I dont trust safeties and never will. Therefore I never carried my 1911 and probably never will.

  • Yup, glocks are the caveman simple weapons that work... but there's nothing like having a finely tuned weapon that feels solid like a rock and kicks like a mule.

  • 1911s killed more nazis you terrorist

  • Glocks took their action from the 1911, which is arguably the best handgun ever.

  • LOL WUT? How? The Glock doesn't even have a hammer or any external safeties.

  • They have the same locking slide, locks the same exact way. All modern semi-automatic handguns came from the M1911, and the M1911 is still better than them. You didn't even see slides on pistols until 1911, then suddenly after everyone makes their handguns with slides, guess where it came from!

  • I can't really see how the 1911 is better then modern handguns. We all know a 1911 will never be as reliable as a Glock. Compared to modern pistols, the 1911 is heavy, more complex, less reliable, and expensive. I think the only thing a 1911 has over modern pistols is aesthetics and a better trigger. I like to think of my Browning Hi Power as an updated version of the 1911.

  • Where do you get the evidence it is not as reliable as a Glock? They have the same damned action, and we all know what one came first. The 1911 is actually less complex than many modern pistols including the Glock (which, by the way, stole the 1911's action). The 1911 is also SAFER than most modern pistols, with a triple safety (half cock, grip, and hammer block switch).

  • Have the same action? I don't know where you got that from. I don't know any modern pistols that have a barrel bushing like a 1911 does. The grip safety is useless, that's why no other pistol designs have it. The 1911 is no safer then any modern pistols. The Glock has a trigger safety, firing pin safety, and drop safety. The Glock can almost be neglected where the 1911 needs more maintenance to keep running.

  • @patsfanczar on triple safety:

I read that pistols with more than one safety are leading the top in the list of self-inflicted gun shot wounds. Looks like more than one safety leads to sloppiness on side of the users.

  • From what? Thats on the user, not the gun, not my fault people are stupid.

  • @patsfanczar:

It's people that have to use the guns, right?

With time comes routine and with routine come unconcious actions. Those are the fast ones that we have to rely on in the tricky sitiuations. But when we are brought out of our routine we miss some of these actions. ... and then ... blam.

I accept your viewpoint, but i can't share it. Just this year a friend shot himself in the ankle. And he's not one of those sloppy guys.

  • Point the gun in a safe direction, the triple safety is there to make sure you don't needlessly fire rounds (.45 is expensive). The 1911 is still better than any modern handgun, simpler, more reliable, more powerful, and trusted, fuck SIG and Glock, they can keep their goofy trigger mechanisms.

  • I have a kimber pro cdp II, and I have 2 sigs... I used to have 2 kimbers but traded one in because it was not reliable enough... Still my cdp II has had 2 jams in roughly 300 rounds.. my sig p229 has had 0 malfunctions in 500 rounds, and my brand new p220 is perfect out of the box I've shot 150 rounds out of that and more accurate with that than anything I've ever shot... if I were to go to war tonight... I would take my sigs before my kimber... Don't get me wrong (look for continuation)

  • I still love my kimber, in fact I carried it tonight when I went out to eat with the family for pre-Christmas dinner. Its a beautiful slim piece, but from my personal experience I think sig has the perfect balance between beauty and performance

  • my thoughts exactly

  • @esh325 on Reliability of 1911 vs. Glock:

If i am not mistaken you have to rack the slide to trigger reset the glock after a dud. While on a 1911 you just pull a second time. Most "duds" i had on any hand gun could be fired on second attempt.

Also the triggers on Glocks, Steyr Ms etc. are more complex. I don't have any numbers on this, but would be surprised if any of this new guns would have a more reliable trigger than 1911s or most other hammer fired pistols.

  • I haven't used a Glock so I can't comment on that. The Glocks are an overall simplier gun with less parts. I've had more problems with 1911's then any other semi auto handgun.

  • @esh325:

Excuse me for this kinda rude question: Were those Norincos?

I had more FTEs, FTXs with the "new" type of handguns. (Newer with HK pistols ... i should buy one of those, soon ;) )

Regarding the # of parts i googled for "glock exploded" etc. and the diagrams say glock has 32 1911 has 37 ... but the 1911 has 6 parts for the wooden grips alone. So, I think we should talk about the number and complexity of important internal parts, not overall parts.

  • They were all Colt's, I've only handled Norinco 1911's, and they look like well built guns like all Norinco firearms. Norinco's are probably my favorite. My Browning Hi Power and TT-33, (while only made 19 years after the 1911) run better then the 1911's I've fired.

  • @esh325:

Strange, i only heard bad stuff about the Norinco 1911s.

  • Most of the negative things people say about Chinese firearms are false. They make very good guns.

  • what is concealed carry? O.o gotta look that one up am german by the way xD

  • I have three Kimber's and they are good guns, But there customer service is not that great, they are rude. But they fix it if it is there fault.

  • this is sooooo the best lookin pistol ever

give this comment a good rating

  • i want to get a kimber

  • lol

  • Cool video

  • too bad we cops use a .38 special

  • you guys still use 38's cops around here use 40s

  • I love the kimber 45. autos. But I will always stand by my Colt 45. Its not only a fine firearm, but its a peice of history. The kimber SIS is ugly as shit, but it preforms above average all day everyday. As we all know, never buy a gun on looks. COLT RULZ

  • those grips on them are pretty cool tho, but i like my rosewood checkered ouble D more, its all about dark red wood in my opinion

  • ooo sweet i wanna get a 450 fps 1911 pistol airsoft

  • HAHAHAHAHAH

  • i second that hahahahaha, while i sit her with my kimber at side

  • I guess the 1911 doesnt do to well with water? I read when SEAL team 6 was in commision they had to ditch the 1911 and go with berreta and 6 shooter revolver types. Aperently back in the day those guns didnt malfunction when exposed to salt water. but this was in the 80s and 90s, im sure some one manufacturs a water tuff 1911 by now.

  • ***VENT*** I have two kimbers on order. 4-6 MONTHS!?

That's insane. I got my truck in less time than that!!!

Anyone know what is going on? Do they wait for a certain # of orders to produce? Or is it that everyone is buying them up b/c of the new (f)administration?

  • I bought a used Kimber Custom TLE/RL II.

I got 4 magazines with it. Previous owner told me he never had a jam, and put 800 rounds through it. I test fired it and it was fine. Plus he broke it in for me.

I paid hundreds under retail for a nice gun that shoots tight groups. Why buy new? They'll be flooding the market soon.

  • Nice choice.

I have the PRO TLE/RL II.

I had a hard time finding a holster that would fit a railed 1911. I ended up buying a Milt Sparks. There is a long waiting period, but their holsters are well worth the money.

  • quest makes some cheapo holsters for with and without rail i got one cuz i' gonna try to keep my royal 2's polished blue as nice as possible for as long as possible and those quest holsters are sooooo soft inside. but like i said their cheapos

  • Everything is backed up right now because the demand for firearms, ammo, and accessories is so high.

I waited over 6 months for an upper for my AR15. I ended up cancelling my order and picked up an upper at a gun show.

  • that sucks, i got mine in one month.... but that was about a year ago i hope i don't have to wait that long to get one of their rifles.

  • Yes the new administration hates gun owners but that doesn't stop the production of guns, not yet anyways. Think about this way, with Sotomayar taking office soon and Obama in office, people are buying guns left and right. Relating that to production, you can't just hire a bunch of cheap immigrant labor to build a gun, gunsmiths are a dying breed and takes years of training also.

  • just picked up my pro carry II and have yet to fire it... will probably take place of my g23 carry... just a little concerned with carrying around 8 rounds than the usual 13 of .40 cal, guess we cant always get what we want huh?

  • 210....You should readily fall in "love" with your pro carry ll. I have a pro carry HD ll and it is easily my favorite pistol. No jams, accurate, and such a looker too. I had 2 feed failures over 800 rounds, and both times it was due to the factory mag. Use the higer end mags, they are worth it!

  • I've had my Kimber Custom I for almost 9 years now. With Wilson Combat mags (the factory ones were crap unfortunately) the weapon is flawless. I use it as my carry weapon too. It's heavy but the grip is perfect for my hand the the SA trigger is my preference. Still, I'm interested in finding something lighter in the future for concealed carry.... maybe. My 6' 4" and 190# body actually has no problem at all carrying the full sized 1911 and I have yet to be spotted to my knowledge.

  • I just bought Chip Mccormick and Wilson Mags, both 10 round, havn't fired them yet, Hey do they have 12 round mags??

  • If they exist I haven't seen them. I can only imagine how far a 12 rd mag would stick out from the grip. Something like that would be great for the range but I'd be worried about using a 12 rd mag for concealed carry as it might get snagged when you draw the weapon from the holster.

  • just got the sis ultra and yes its a bad bitch

  • Nice guns for sure! Thanks.

  • I have a Kimber and LOVE it. It is the best of any gun I have ever own. I prefer them to Glock, Para, S&W, Taurus, Springfield Armory. There customer service is FAR SUPERIOR to any.

If you have an issue they will send you replacement parts NO question asked. Even if your mag is jamming, they will send a BRAND NEW one. and than pay to have you return the old one.

  • They are tough looking to me.

    IR

  • I personally have never had good luck with Kimbers. Friends love them and had minimal. One friend has one from the custom shop (Raptor) and said he had issues in the break in stage but its his CCW today. I'm really curious about the Dan Wesson CBOB. Owning semi-custom 1911s the CBOB really stands out at its price point.

  • Damn straight! ...did my own little Kimber tribute vid. check it out.

  • I personally prefer Springfield Operators 1911 but thats just because I got a petter potter down at 100 yards with it
