Wow, thank you. I have loved "Back to the Island" since it came out, and much of Russell's work still brings tears whenever I have the privelege. Leon, there must be MILLIONS of us who sing along with you, in our hearts and minds.

Great to see this 'union', but I recommend Leon fans go back to his first solo album after leaving Delaney & Bonnie. It's called 'Leon Russell' (orig. work title was 'Can a Blue Man Sing the Whites', and includes 'Delta Lady', 'Hummingbird', etc. w.Ringo Starr, Klaus Voorman and other stellar players. Arguably the best thing he ever did... and avail. on CD.

I can't get enough of this album and I love so many of the songs, this album just totally blows me away. " I should have sent roses" has been played and played over and over again, on my computer, on my stereo and in my car, just takes my breath away. I love these guys together.

I commented on another video of this song that for some reason, it made me a little teary. I just love it and can't stop listening. This is what current songs don't do for me. It's got moving lyrics, a great melody, and timeless voices. Leon and Elton, who better. I hope The Union soars.

Midnight, you express my thoughts exactly. This collaboration...and Elton's endorsement...should make those R&R Hall of Fame people hang their heads in shame. Thank you for this! I've been a fan of Leon's since I was a 15 year old girl seeing her first concert-Mad Dogs and Englishmen. I developed a crush on Leon that's never quite faded. I'm really looking forward to adding this album to my Leon collection. This really is a beautiful song. It's wonderful to see Leon back where he belongs-at his piano in a recording studio.

I believe the CD credits will reveal Leon Russell (Young Carney Music) and Bernie Taupin (Rouge Booze Inc). Leon actually told a story of finding these lyrics on the piano and beginning to sing...
