  • great stuff as always B !

  • Hi My Friend Do you still use this Light at All?? I found one new in the box on my shelf and I never remember buying it or using it.

    Thanks

  • Hey Brian mighty nice of you to do all these tutorials! Thanks every so often I pick up something new before I pick up the equipment. One question I have on this video - where is the REVO III placed? You obviously don't want this in the middle of the dance floor - someone may take it home ;o)

  • 100th like... woohoo!

  • well i am impresed i am ordering another flash shot next i am gona save for a revo 3

  • What with you americans Linking light with AC power cons IEEK.

  • looks cool :) nice job

  • nice lights, shity song

  • hjn

  • When LED's can do this for 99 dollars per fixture, and with enough brightness for the (majority of) schools and hotels that do NOT allow fog or haze, then call me.

    search this:

"American DJ Electra 250 Color Lighting Scanner"

  • honestly: this is basically a 70's Radio Shack color organ effect: boring and predictable after 30 seconds.

LEDs are DIM and lack "motion" of the 90's fixtures.

On the whole, we have taken a giant step backwards with these clever new LEDS: 3 colors that "blink on and off" in tacky shapes..with no beam movement.

  • wow 3 colors that blink. welcome to the 60's

  • Brian - I have 2 Chauvet LX5 lights, but I'd like to pair it with something that shines straight laser type lights, not circles or patterns - What would you suggest? Please help, you know what your doing and I know nothing. Its just for house parties.

  • Seems like an outstanding lite! but it must be hard to dmx program. it's almost like programing 7 LED lights in one fixture

  • i am definitely buying this light, thanks for the vid dude...

  • I wonder how well these work on really high ceilings like 20 foot or so from ground to ceiling.

  • Oh you'll be impressed! I've blown up High School gyms with it :)

  • Your demo made me go out & buy this light Brian. As a mobile wedding DJ, it's a real winner for me & my brides & grooms. Thanks! --DJ Bri Swatek

  • I have this light and its really nice to have. I usually sit it on the floor and point it at the ceiling, and it covers a HUGE area, but works great in the center of a truss too! Come's in really handy at gigs where folks dont want to pay for lights, but I know the gig will blow without them. I take this one light and turn it on and its like a lightshow in a box, all by itself.

  • Hey, how much does a light like this cost? Are there any tri-led type of lights that do sorta the same thing? thanks.

  • this light costs about 140 - 160 UK Pound

  • i dont care about "bulb life" or power consumption led lights look cheap, they are no gobos just fixed lights, yes you can make patterns but its just not the same, i shall stick to my gobos and bulbs that only last a few months or so thankyou :)

  • You seem to know what your doing.. can you please help. I was told that you cannot get colors other than RED GREE AND BLUE unless you are using a DMX mixing board. We are looking for our first light. It would be nice to get all the colors. When you said stand alone mode, I take it that means no DMX involved? I want an LED light that will do what you display here, but also maybe just project a static color pattern on the wall. Thanks for any advice.

  • REVO 3 Is theBOMB

  • wouldnt a revo 3 with all tri-leds be cool? hundreds of color possibilites.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Brian. My husband has this light, but we lost the manual for making the different patterns. Do you know where we could find it online? Which settings do you have it set on for the patterns in the video?

  • check out the american dj web site, and look for this light. they almost always have .pdf manual files for all of there products

  • 2:54

    WOW, have some lights lol.

  • hey brian nice lights im a big fan of all ur light but u gotta tell me what is the name of that song i like it so much

  • Hi Brian - love the video - I am run 2 of these linked - depending on the room/hall depends on the program I use to get not too much light.

But I like the old moon flower effects but they are heavy and use lamps. Can you suggest something similar that uses LEDs. Most LED lights flash rather than using moving parts. This has advantages but is not the same. I like the AmericanDJ TriLED but they are not linkable and have no programs. Can you suggest any alternatives??

  • I don't know how important it would be to link these kind of lights, but nothing right now comes to mind. The Tri LED lights are a great series. You'd have to have one to appreciate them

  • @briansredd Linking these lights will give you the same patterns, or light shows, on both lights?

  • Brian, I have seen a number of your video's and I must say you do a great job. I really like it when to take a LED light apart and then show all the ways you can work it, Thank you for your time, all the info is very useful.......Dave

  • People love the Revo 3 a quality lantern and am happy with the one i have had for the past 2 months defo worth the money

  • hey it looks allmost exactly the same as the ACME immpossible led the patterns look the same with 4 red leds in the middle the next "ring" is white then the next is blue then green then finally red again

lol shows how much companys copy each other!

  • This is the ACME, they are the same I believe. Come from China. Just different names.

  • this is the ADJ version but yea they prob come from the same factory lol

  • wot was the light called again

  • I literaly just purchased one of these im hoping it lives up to all the hype!

    DE

  • awesome! Thank you for posting. and yes, what is the title of the track?

  • thats freaken sweet

  • hey bri what was the track?

  • Too Long- Daft Punk

  • So glad I found you! I'm constantly debating what kind of lighting fixtures to pick up, so it's nice to find someone who gives you all the specs and a demo. Very informative. I've been hemming and hawing about the Revo III & Vue III. I'm going Revo after watching this vid. Thanks, Brian!

  • I really like this fixture, LED lighting is the way to go.

  • Has anyone started hacking on the REVO III, Messenger, Mystic yet? Maybe changing out some of the LED colors, since for text messaging having a couple of standard colors or even putting tri-color LEDs in place.

  • This is great information !

    Now a quick question...

I want to put this in my store not a club to attract attention. Does this light function with no music? I mean like a stand alone no beat no music mode with nothing attached. Plug the power cable and select some show mode and go kind. Any information would help. I cannot have music in my store for the light. thanks

  • Yeah sure you can. You should be able to adjust the speed without music as well

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • 4:18 - 4:20 is the hella tight feature of the light

  • crap i dont know if i want this or the vue... HELP SOME ONE

  • the revo III is crisper and the led dots are more clear. the revoIII is also brighter buy a good amount.

  • just got this light for my trick or treet display but i for got to take a vid of it so i set them up in my ht so i can rock out with rock band

  • Brian is there an external controller for this...if so what is it?

  • 18F with webcam. MSG me on M.S.N. ID is in my profile.

questioning your sexuality? check my profile out! msg me! lets talk! Ep

  • Hey man this light is sick!!! ive only just started and i feel like im a million miles away!! ha ha!!!! how much does something like this cost!!! been watching all ur vids!!! given me lots to think about!!! but very helpfull!!! Top Man!!!!!

  • we are making a projec miniature disco bar, what certain LEDs that we can use to make our project perfect? we want some rotating leds and laser lights in our project, but we dont know how to do it... we are using LM3915 ic to synchronized the lights into the input music....thanks.. can you help us???

  • Brian, great video and I particularly like your comments about the longevity of LEDs compared to conventional lights. The Revo III is a best seller for me and it just gets more popular every day. While it can be used without, when programmed with DMX the effect is all the more incredible, especially when used with other DMX LED lighting!

  • hey brian, does this light strobe automatically in the microphone mode? i don't think i noticed it that well if it happened. also, i am debating between the mystic led and the revo III, since you have looked at both, i was hoping you would have an opinion?

  • i just can't get into LED. i just think it looks weird.

  • Hi Brian, just purchased this light. I love it! Had a question. Is there a way to set it up for just white. I am thinking for First Dances, Parent dances, etc. Thank you!

  • I have a question, what do you think about Chauvet lighting Vs American DJ lighting? Dj Mateo Cruz

  • Chauvet makes some nice products as well. I own the Color Splash Jr lights and also have a Vue III. Most of the ADJ stuff seems to be much brighter, though.

  • can you 'unfocus' these LED lights so the colors are more blended?

  • No, well, not that i know of :P

  • Great i have now buy one of these revo 3 lights. I will test this light at the Garden and make a video and post it on youtube hopefully it works outdoor so good like indoor :).

  • Hello Brain, the revo 3 effects looks great. But is it also a good light for Rooms with a small height? Your Room`s height looks high :D. I am Planing also to make a Party in a Garden maybe this light is a good option for outdoor activitiy?

  • Actually, the cieling I was projecting that light on is 6'6! So yes, it ROCKS on any height cieling :)

  • Nice Lights xD

  • thnx ur da $hitt

  • btw, what is the name of that song??

  • Too Long by Daft Punk

  • so they are on the people so they have lights to dance with =D

  • Why do some dj's point their lights on the floor? you can't really see the paterns that well.

  • on this light do the LEDs automaticly react to the music via a micraphone or are the effects controlled by the user on a lighting board? Thanks

  • There is both an internal mode where it reacts to the music (as demonstrated) and can also be controlled via a DMX controller (also as demonstrated)

  • okay thanks

  • how much?!?!?!?!?!

  • google

  • ok smartass ill try google.

  • $249.99 US on Musician's Friend. I would put a link here to it, but YouTube won't let me. Go to: musiciansfriend dot com, and search: American DJ Revo III LED DMX Effect Light, and it will take you to it.

  • $200 in sandiego + shipping XD with meee!!!!

  • Thank You for a very informative and interesting video. I have the Chauvet VUE III, and now, after seeing your video, i am definitely gong to get the Revo 3 as well.

    Thank You Brian!

  • Revo 3 or revo 2? I thought the revo 2 video at american dj looked better comments? I'm purchasing this month

  • Do you get a dimmer control on those LED clusters if you control them with 10 channels?

  • You can dim the unit in DMX 10 channel mode

  • correction: 8* Par 56

  • correction: 8* Par 56

  • Hey brian, we need ur advice, We have in our mobil drive in show now: 4* Par 38 short 2* cheap moonflowers 1* smokemachine and some few other small effects. We are going to invest some new lights but we wondered: What will be a wise choice: optoin 1: 8* Par 58 + 2* 1000W strobe option 2: 2* ADJ Revo LED Scanners option 3: 1* Revo3 LED. The goal is for partyareas around 20 by 20 meters. we have for the lightning 2 T bars, and 1 3m wide truss. Thanks in advance, DanceMania ®
  • You won't be dissapointed with the Revo III. This light really lights up a room!

  • Okay, the Revo and the Vue obviously are at the top for LED Lighting - but which is better, and why? There seem to be a million opinions out there that the Revo is better than the Vue and visa versa - so what do you think Brian?

  • The Revo is twice the power, but also seems to be twice as bright. I have both and never use the Vue III anymore. The Revo is my fav

  • Since you don't use that Vue III anymore, if you're looking to get rid of it cheap I know a good light truss that could give it a nice home. :)

  • HA! I tend to hang onto stuff just in case someone needs a tute on it.

  • And when i´m give it a try, is there a possibility of blowing up 1 or more lights ?

    Many Thanks!

  • I don't know how you would.

  • And when i´m give it a try, is there a possibility of blowing up 1 or more lights ?

    Many Thanks!

  • Hey Brian, I have a question for you: I'm going to buy the LED DMX Scanner ADJ Revo Scan (twice), but I wondered: Can you link a revo scanner with the Revo||| by Master/Slave function? That would look nice I think when you control the scanner and the Revo||| will do the same.

    Thanks allready,

    DJ Chemical X

  • I don't think so. They are two different lights and do not have the same functions.

  • nice use of too long. love the vid.

  • thanks a lot for helping me make my decision in buying the revo III, it is a great light.

  • hi.

could you give me the name of the SONG0'

    thanks a lot

  • Too Long by Daft Punk

  • I got this light 2 wks ago and gigged it at a friend's party. everyone just sprawled out on the couches and floor and tripped out on the lights. Love this light! need to get a remote controller. thx for the great review!

  • This is a awesome floor filler, I am very thankful Brian took the time on this one or I would of never known about it...

    Thanks Brian!

  • Cool thanks man. I just got some more REVO lights this morning. I'll try to get videos up on them tomorrow

  • thats a pretty cool light

might have to invest in one

    cheers bri

  • how much is it

what would be a good set up 4 a beggining dj

    preferably cheap

  • Around $200 most places

  • haha i love watching your vids!

im only 15 and im dying to get my first lights!

sadly its taking a while to save up =/

  • A great review!

How bright would these be in a big venue? I use msd250 at the moment, but I love the idea of LED technology.

  • Take a look at my recent gig logs. I use it in a variety of room sizes. It pretty much fills any space I have been in as of yet

  • Nice! Very Interested now, thanks! :D

  • would you say the revo III or reflex LED would give u more coverage in a large room?

  • Brian...I enjoyed the review. I am picking one up this week for a corporate event.

  • Thats an awesome light to have!!

  • Very well done I do seminars on lighting and was very impressed on your overview

  • Hey thanks!

  • that is one sweet light man! I really think the little bit of extra wattage compared to the Vue III make a big difference in brightness. Gotta get me this one. Thanks for reviewing it for us Brian!

  • Very nice light, ;-)

  • I forgot to ask. Does this light have a glass lense or a plastic one? I know the Chauvet ones have plastic lenses.

  • It's plastic. I'd worry about it breaking if it were glass.

  • nice vid nice light! Thanks Bri!!

  • Brian, sorry but gotta ask. How do you set up the light. Does it face up the ceiling or what? Talking about this one revo III

  • I like shining at the cieling. You can shine it wherever you want, though.

  • So Brian, if you have not left yet for your gig tonight, can you run both the Vue III and the Revo III while you are there? Is the Revo III actually brighter? I had supposed it was not as bright, in consideration of the lesser number of LEDs. I look forward to seeing your next gig log :)

  • The Revo looks a lot brighter than the Vue to me. The LEDs also seem sharper. I did run the light last night but only the Revo. I'll get that video posted tonight after I take care of some daddy stuff.

  • Is the coverage as good as well, more coverage, less coverage, or about the same, but brighter?

  • I think it's about the same. The light fixture itself seems to be physicaly a little smaller, though.

  • The same as far as coverage, that is. It looks much brighter and sharper. The red seems about the same color, but the green, blue and white are quite brilliant

  • Its cute but theres TONS of light leakage around the edges of the lens which is a downer. Lack of focusing is also a shame. I doubt thats going to stop this light from replacing derbys for mobile djs. I like the dimming. Its a shame that the ADJ Revo Scan doesn't dim because that would have been a light that I may have concidered. Anyway I'm glad you like your new toy. :) I'm still n-joing my new Spectrum LEDs.

  • Most of that light leakage isn't visable. For some reason it really showed up on my video.

  • Well you got it. Thay seen to be about te same apart from the watts. Do you one is better then the other or about the same.

  • This one is easier to use for sure and looks a lot brighter than the other.

  • If you make this shine in the sky when it's cloudy , people will call the police to say there are ufo's in the sky :)

Very nice light , I want this too :)

  • great vid on this light Bri...one question...where do you set this up at a gig? Floor pointing up to ceiling? I watched your vid in the "domes", but didn't see where you set up your other light. Thanks again Bri...awesome vids!

  • You'll see in the next gig video. An effect like this just needs to be pointed upwards. Anything around table height should be fine. Many people do point these downwards. I'm just taking the advice of other Youtubers pointing it upwards

  • you need to do more light vid i like them

  • I'll do them as I get them :) Thanks for watching!

  • this light is fantastic can you get there in the uk

  • There is an American DJ Europe. I'm not sure if they offer this light there yet. However, If I understand correctly, the ligtht has an automatic power converter from 110/220-240. Seems all you'll need is an adapter cable!

  • thanks bri

  • And I thought the view was a better light!

What are you going to do with your VUE III now?

  • wow. how awesome is that! why isn't there any lights like this in nighclubs!

  • isn't/aren't.... whatever. bad grammar. great lights.

  • Very cool light! I'm ready to go to the Guitar Shop this coming Sat. to get a few new lights plus that mixing board. I will be retiring the disco ball. Besides when you came to that gig a few weeks ago someone stole one of my pin spots that I use for the ball. Guess that was a hint to get rid of it.

  • Well Dave, you did have (a) big Discoball(s). Time to neuter you!

  • American DJ gear is now officially available in the UK. The web site is americandjeurope dot com.

  • Was this light at the show you went to?

  • Yeah, ADJ had a stand with a whole selection of lights - including the LED stuff.

  • man the song and the light made me wanna dance :)

    ty for share..

do show more of your stuff if you got

its great.. i am going to buy some more

lights this week so good to get more info..

    ty and be safe..

    Farrrwell...

  • very cool light!

  • Great video, I have been going back and forth between getting the Revo3 vs Vue3. The increased brightness, white "pearl" light, and extra features are definite selling points that I might have overlooked if it wasn't for your video.

  • Cool light, but similar in many ways to the Vue III, huh? If I had I choice I'd pick this one though. It looks better than the Vue III in standalone mode.

What about the pricing of the Revo III compared to the Vue III?

(BTW, I see that you're wearing the shirt Johnathan sent you!)

  • The pricing should be about the same.

  • What does this light look like when you introduce smoke to the mix?

  • I've only seen it with my Cigarette smoke.. HA! Seriously, the beams really show off nicely with smoke. The changes are so smooth that it looks like there's a moving head involved.

  • Thanks for getting back to me. I'm definitely looking at converting to LED. Have a dance party i'm djing in December

  • Also like the shirt...

  • Nice light...
