Here's who I am. My nationality is Canadian, but Canadian isn't an ethnicity. My ethnicity, however, is Acadian - my ancestors settled in a part of New France called "Acadie" and we are distinct from other Canadian groups and even other French-Canadians (like the Québécois) because of our different origins, separate history, separate provincial governance and VASTLY different and distinct dialects of French. Don't confuse nationality and ethnicity. That's all I'm saying.

I don't honestly know how you self-identify, but you may not be using accurate terminology. It's entirely possible to be ethnically Russian without having Russian nationality. Many ethnic Russians in Latvia don't have Russian citizenship - they carry Latvian passports, but they certainly consider themselves Russian otherwise there wouldn't be violence in country between Latvians and Russians about the status of the Russian language and Russian cultural/historical symbols.
