  • All that you have to do is advance this and make it more efficient and you could program it do all sorts of amazing things for interacting with a device. Like shooting a gun in a game or editing a photo in the air in front of you... this is a very cool thing

  • blud can u even click

  • 3:13 you go, girlfriend! mm-hmm!

  • Can someone help me using this instead of a pen in the low-cost multitouch whiteboard?

  • look at the tv when he points the wii remote at the camera at 0:34 the hand thing moves?

is this cause the ray light thingy is refelctin off the camera lense or sumthin?

  • lol wtf is the point if u cant click?

  • Everybody the birth of Xbox Kenect

  • ? you can give the link of the 3d program that you use

  • Omg..... That is awesome

  • this is EXACTLY how the kinect works

  • Why does the first top comment have less thumbs-up than the second?

  • like multitouch kinect

    WTF!!!

  • He helped make the kinect

  • can you use your finger directly on a pc, just like a regular touchscreen?

  • just get a kinect

  • okay what ever video game corporation hires this guy first will make so much money

  • you just made wii remotes a commodity.

  • You are a genius!

  • waw he is really an inventor

  • can you click on stuff?

  • This is a serious question...

What if your skin is a different colour? Would a black person's skin react differently?

  • @WindowsAndMacintosh your skin color only affect how much UV light is reflected so you should be fine

  • @WindowsAndMacintosh sadly yes because the blacker something or someone is. just use the reflective stickers

  • @WindowsAndMacintosh LOL!

    seriously answering your question:

    black man < white man

(lighter colors means more reflection of light, lesser absorption)

  • @WindowsAndMacintosh what a dumb question. No, it would not react differently. It has nothing to do with the skin colour, but rather the light intensity the finger emits.

  • @WindowsAndMacintosh

    black people have white fingers...

  • @WindowsAndMacintosh yes, it gets lower reflectsion but not by much

  • a cheap kinect :) gawsh :)

  • For those of you who are not sure what I am referring too when I say "DIY touch screen projection TV idea": Google the following:....... “Rear-Projection TV Turned into a Multi-touch Display”

  • Can I combine this idea within a DIY touch screen projection TV idea? I like the idea of an integrated system within my old 50” projection but I didn’t want to play around with Lasers or even IR LED’s around an acrylic sheet.

Can I insert your IR LED array inside the projection TV. And no Wii, just use a modified web cam?

Also, Will the TV's front panel block my fingers from the array?

  • Comment removed

  • Hey, you could make a glove with either IR LEDs or reflective stuff and make a Wii power glove "It's so good."

  • does that mean if i wear black gloves with reflective finger points ill have 10 dots exactly instead of 60 dots coming from the whole hand!?

  • My fingers emit infrared light. I find this video very offensive.

  • need some sort of input service making so that you can use it as a substitute for a mouse.

  • so...a kinect...a totally awesome kinect

  • combine this with headtrack?

  • Comment removed

  • this is pretty awesome and nerdy

  • without physical feedback anything that is motion tracking will forever be null

  • haha at 0:59 he said doo doo

  • how do u do that - ┌∩┐ ◕_◕ ┌∩┐ all i did was copy and paste it but if any body could tell me tht would be great

  • Comment removed

  • chinese?

    i'm too

  • I LOVE THIS GUY

    take this sony ┌∩┐ ◕_◕ ┌∩┐

  • Beer for him!

  • Cool!

  • did u make the kinect

  • And the Kinect was born!

  • 3:33 beyonce's singal ladies

  • how many leds did you use, and how much power did you use to power them?

  • how do u click

  • Can somebody explain to me why this guy isn't a billiomare yet?

  • @killrathy because he's not money hungry like white ppl

  • @phattown213 Ok this comment is just stupid. If hes not money hungry he could spend that billion dollars to save all the stupid people in the world from themselves, or feed the homeless or start a game or software company the actually makes games that aren't 60 dollars and are half finished at release, imagine that.

  • "if your fingers are anything like mine, they don't emit very much infrared light. they're just made out of skin"

  • 3:34

    black woman saying no

  • YOU'RE FAT.

  • looks like the movie from tom cruise :|

  • how is the refelctive material (min 2:30) called ?

  • how is the reflective tape (min 2:30) he's talking about called ?

  • Respond to this video... no its grite do it on a glass tabal

  • So where did you get your IR led array and reflective tape from? I tried looking at radio shack but they didn't have either.

  • WHY DOES THIS HAVE TWO MILLION VIEWS

  • this guy should make his own company, he could pwn Sony's, Nintendo's and most important, Microsoft's asses!

  • lol the creators of kinect saw this guy's videos.

  • ANY~BODY~WHO~WRITES~STUFF~LIKE~THIS~IS~A~SCAM~ARTIST~SO~DO~NOT~CLICK~ON~ANY~LINKS~THEY~MAY~GIVE~YOU

  • 100%_REAL_Check~Out~My~Channel~4~Free~MSP~Nintendo_Points~PSN~and~Xbox+Live+Subscription~Codes

  • @RhejtBehim Caught ya

  • i like this alot, but i may just use the whiteboard project instead. The tutorial he tells me to follow doesn't make sense to me. mabey i'm just stupid or something. I can't get it to work but if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

  • and just to help clarify one point i see alot of people making, the wiimote can only track up to 4 points at a time. so sorry, no full body tracking with only one wiimote. i havent looked into it since it doesnt concern me but others have looked into using more than one remote at a time. mabey they have it working to track more than 4 points at once. i'm not sure.

  • I've been trying to get this done. Went to his site for how to do it but i'm having problems with it. I got the wiimote connected to my computer but I'm not sure what he means by following the tutorial he links to. Wondering if i should just copy the provided code into C# compile it then run it or what to do. You would think someone would have made the correct working files for this avaliable already. I'm going to try that and see what I get. I'll wait on building the ir stuff untill it works.

  • awesome!

  • Press 5 and 7 over and over.

  • Comment removed

  • you have to make million

  • 3:11 He's doing the "oh-no-you-di'in't" snap haha :)

Anyways, this is really cool, and you came up with it 3 YEARS before Kinect even came out! :) I'll have to give the a try someday. Cool video! :)

  • Play-Warcraft-And-Never-Pay-VisitmyChannel

  • you should make gloves for this

  • Glad my site helped

  • you could just use a flashlight, just put it on top of the wiimote nd thumbs up if it works

  • thumbs up if you tried this

  • Wow that look awesome idea.

  • @TheSignalComes uh I wasn't implying that he invented the kinect but thanks for clearing that up

  • johnny lee FTW

  • this is 2007. He must have done something pretty cool by now

  • The k

  • and how do you tap? If you can't this is completely useless

  • meeh i am really bored anyone wanna play and have fun

  • @shanti09ful you don't really age and move all over the world.. tell me your magical secret? ^^

  • @dumilfreshbrillertje not being racist, but its cause hes asian and has no soul. everyone knows this. well least me and my 5 Asian friends lol seeing as they get carded every time we go to the bar and they're at least 30

  • @TheDaviddmo Hmm, I was talking about Shanti09ful.. but though you mean the dude in the vid, I see your point.. :')

  • @shanti09ful

    Wii would like to play.

  • 0:58

    Doo doo.

    lol.

  • i was thinking about the same thing (not exactly but the same principal) :D, without watching this movie :p

instead of using rings you can also paste the reflective paper on a glove ;) or you can use reflective paint :p

:) espero tu respuesta

  • THIS IS THE NEW BILL GATES!!!!!

  • this dude is a sell out, switching to Google from Microsoft...

  • use a white glove - it's quite cooler

  • Comment removed

  • This is a good person.

  • If you moved the stuff to underneath your fingers and had that paper on all of your fingers you could have a virtual keyboard

  • 4:01,That's what she said.

  • U know why the U.S. is the strongest empire in human history?

Look at the companies like microsoft and googles!

Thats because they always get the most genius guys within a week which ensure their advantages against any other one of the world in next years!

This guy is going to be the most richest guy in the computer world sooner or later and now we know it might again only be partial of stock % of Microsoft!

  • @kinglrd so ur a yank

  • reminds me of the nes powerglove for wich you also have to remove your fingers to play a game.

so technically speaking the wii mote uses a infrared sencor to detect infra red licht and thus can detect reflected licht from your fingers, especialy when you use reflector papers, also it must,ve been chellanging to put the will mote in the middle of the infrared led array's in a way to detect infrared licht from the centre.

but does the wii mote also not have a motion sencor,i tout it dit !!??

  • do all asians do this? dayum

  • cool

  • i knew that it has something copied from nes zapper (that camera thingy) =D

  • @bartvandelft97new interesting. inspired by the wii's stuff.....i like this guy :P

  • hah

    kinect

  • Nice really nice. I like creative things like this

  • Dude MIT geeks are copying you , look up "MIT kinect" on YouTube

  • @FuckingGarlicMoat Your comments shame him *Slap*

  • amazing!

  • 3:30 gentlemen, we are now one step closer to having a VR interface on our computers just like Tony Stark.

  • @Ozmirr We already Can.... :D

  • 3:12 "oh no you didn't!"

  • "not very good for productivity" *cough cough PS move and kinect*

  • @staplerjm implying the ps move can track your fingers lol

  • I'm working on an interactive theatre project, in which a performer will be tracked in 3 dimensions using two cameras and an IR emitter. I'm considering using Glint tape for the point being tracked, but it is a bit pricey. Any idea where I can get any of this stuff? What exactly did you use?

  • Do companies fool people and show that their technologies are so complicated and loot people?

  • This is the true Minority Report, not Kinect.

  • Ooh! Ooh! You could actually point at the screen with your finger to object in the WiiWare version on Phoenix Wright!

  • @Dan00bindahouse this is a very good idea, this must now be implemented into the game NAO >:D

  • screw kinect

  • DO this in KINECT!!!!!! IF I USE reflective tape in kinect the result will be more eficient??

  • Awesome!!

  • Just for the record - this guy was hired by microsoft and was part of the development team for the kinect.

  • come on man do u have a job? can i hire you?

  • Kinect must have somehow come from this guy

  • lol, u did the kinect in 2007 first!

  • you are so seriously awesome.

  • so if you put reflective tape on every joint on your body then could u get full body tracking?

  • this is exactly how the kinect senses movement, have a look at some of the videos with camcorders using infra-red. lots of invisible dots of light.

  • Nintendo, you guys are so dumb... unless you have something fantastic in the wings. Kinect is killing you! You guys have the ideas to make something more of the Wii BUT YOU are DOING NOTHING!!! Either hire Johnny Chung or simply concede to Microsoft! Dumb, dumb, dumb!

  • Ah i see, so this is where microsoft gets its technology

  • wuold it work on ps move?

  • bye kinect !!! ill put you in your babysitter ebay

  • So, kinect tecnology was perfected at 2007?

  • MAN, U JUST KILLED KINECT, THANKS!

  • Comment removed

  • Haha at 3:35 he looks like if he's saying "Oh no you didn'tttt"

  • Kinect.

  • @Hubahh Stupid dipshit.

  • haha he said doodoo

  • My fingers are indeed like yours and also made of skin.

  • @gscamp im not 100% sure, but i think mine are aswell :D

  • Freaking SWEET! I wish in game design classes they would be as inspiring as you. :]

The more stuff you know, the more fun you can really have.

  • Idiot

  • wow, great idea.. what program did u use to rotate the grid??

  • one word: kinect

  • Comment removed

  • @joblagz This is what I call innovating. Kinect is what I call jumping on a bandwagon. I prefer to follow those who will present more in the future rather than those that will take one thing and make it the standard from now on.

  • @thedragonb0y The guy in this video a couple months after posting this was hired by Microsoft as a engineer for Kinect.

  • now I understand avatar

  • could u teach me step by step how to do this thank u

  • can u please make me a video on how to hook up the wii remote to a pc thank u

  • i swear, if nintendo hired you, this would be a better world.(for gamers)lol

  • um wtf is the point of this?

  • @jackychan12328 To track your fingers with a Wii remote, duh

  • dude that is so cool

  • You do slot of cool stuff with the Wii

  • kinect. you are the controller.

no one notice the similarities yet?

  • @nerfman2227 Microsoft hired this guy one year ago, so this guy surely did most of the kinect concept.

  • I don't care if my fingers get tired! I'm doing with this!

  • wow this was pretty cool

  • i bet this guy can make a VR arena

  • Where did you get that infrared eray from?

  • AWESOME!!

  • The effect of your arms tiring from stuff like this is called "Gorilla Arms"

  • I would like to know how to define the size of your array of IR LEDs. thanks
