It must be said that his race was about as exciting as the current races. No passing when the track was dry, just like now. F1 really isn't better or worse than it was before when it comes to on-track action. It's the off-track bullshit with Max and Bernie that ruined everything, but at least Max is gone. Shame about Bernie, though.
if you actually look at the statistics, the racing has been pretty consistent for the last 13-14 or so years...
people just love to look at things through rose-tinted specs... in ten years, we'll be banging on about the 2000s and how great it was...
i remember somebody banging on about how great 2005 was and how we don't get racing like that anymore, but 2005 was literally the worst year in the histroy of f1 for overtaking...
the problem with overtaking (for the last decade and a half, not just recent years) is the tracks and the regulations slowing the cars down...
just a few things would bring back much overtaking: wide-track, active suspension, banning double diffusers, more lenient aero regulations, flexible wings and more suitable tracks...

Thanks mate, good to see the Star Wars reference. To copy an old joke about Star Wars "Lose the force Luke, I've run out of lubricant".

Schumacher would never have dreamed it
would be another five years before he
celebrated another title...
But he made up for it big time in the 2000's!
