Plus she lost her parents at an early age, lost her Gran to a serial killer, and got involved with vampires because she thought she could never be with a human man. Then she gets almost killed in every book. If you had lived thru the horrors that Sookie lives thru on a regular basis, you'd be a little selfish and want to protect yourself too.
You totally don't get the books. They are not romance novels. They are adventure stories. It's not about who Sookie ends up with. It's the journey that matters. And Sookie didn't screw up her relationship with Eric by breaking the blood bond. She was forced into the blood bond. Now she can be with Eric because it's her choice, not because she's influenced by his feelings for her. Did you expect their relationship to be perfect and never tested? That's just boring.

I’m not even planning on reading book 12 or watching the 5th season of True Blood. I’m just going to read happy Sookie and Eric fanfiction and pretend things turned out better than they did.

I'm on the third book right now. I've had the books for about a year now and had only read the first one, but I felt it was just so slow. But then I started the second book last week and it's way more fast paced then the first. But they're not the best books I've ever read (HP).

I used to have some back issues. Caused by laying on my side and fiddling with the laptop while in bed. I basically stopped contortioning myself into those type positions and the back issues stopped. i.e. Sit up on the couch, not lay day sideways. Get a pillow that's just the right height for your head/neck. And stuff.

Yeah I found that Sookie Stackhouse books are good for traveling. They're quick, easy, and interesting. I too usually read them in a day, and since my family is big on road trips they're ideal for me. I'm sure once I get further into the series I will start to dislike it more, and as much has I usually hate fan fiction, I may have to go look into it for this series.
The True Blood books are alright, but they are indeed catchy, and I had to read them before the TV series aired. Team Eric! Fan-Fiction is amazing. At least the TV series makes an attempt at creating a Eric as a possibility. I haven't read the last two books but from the sounds of it, I don't want to. Sam will never be the right choice.

Meghan, I freaking love you. Even if you are a hooker for letting out some spoilers for me, because I haven't read the last two books...like I said on FB, I hate her writing but I read it for the characters and (sometimes good & interesting) storyline. But yes, Charlaine could have made Sookie a character someone we, the audience, could like, but instead she made her a flaky bitch. *sigh* I may have to take up reading TB fanfiction.

Yes yes yes yes yes! I'm 100% Team Eric too. I've read all the books and I completely agree! I wanted to throw the 12th book at the wall when that happened. My sister didn't understand why I was in such a bitchy mood while reading a book.

I have the first 8 books. Read 1 and 1/2 of them so far. I love the TV show so much more than the books because I cannot stand Sookie's inner ramblings. I might get through them some day. Meghan, you should read The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward. I'm tellin' ya, they're good!

I am SO addicted to True Blood and I am SO Team Eric but omfg. I HAAATEEEE the way Charlene Harris writes! And I am SO ANTI BOOK ELEVEN. I was so excited for it and now I want to stomp on it, piss on it, start it on fire, grind its ashes with a shit stained boot, and then spit on it. And yes, Sookie is the most vapid, shallow, empty "heroine" EVAR. Hate!
Thank you for the fanfiction. The only time I ever could stand Sookie was when she was under Eric's influence! Can't wait!

I am team Eric I love Eric! I can't get enough of him! I don't understand how after 11 books shes going to end up with Sam. Those books are like crack though they are basically horrible but I can't stop reading them. Also season 4 needs to be exactly like book 4 at least when it comes to Eric and Sookie.

I'm only on book 6 not sure I want to keep reading now. I'm thinking the shows much better! Its not very often I like the show more then the books :(

The Worst thing about the last book is that it ends at a cliff hanger and it just leaves you unsatisfied and then you have to wait another year for the next book.

I'm overall team Eric but I did like Quinn for the time that he lasted. The best thing Alan Ball and the writers of True Blood did to the character of Sookie is made her less selfish, holy hell some of the things she says and does in the books makes you shake your head

Man, If i don't get to see Eric naked in the season premiere I am going to be thoroughly butthurt! That man is sex on legs! Bill is obnoxious, but I love it when he say's "SOOKEH" It always makes me giggle. I haven't read the books, pretty much everyone I've talked to about them say's the show is way better so don't bother. I may give them a whirl though, I'm curious. I'm a fan fiction geek too, and I'm not a damn shamed! I will definitely reading the fan fictions you posted. Thanks Meghan! :)

@CosmicLoveMachine sorry but never ever is the show better than the books, just look how awful this season has become it was just so bad, Alan Ball has this notorious Bill boner, he always gives Bill stuff from other characters of the books, most of the time the scenes of Eric; Most people who read the books love Eric and they don´t even bring up the questions team eric team bill, I am so sick of this, while yes the last 2 books were not that exciting, the writing is still better than the shows
