Yep. That was the whole point. She was suppose to be bitchy & ugly ... that was suppose to be her "appeal". If you ever read the comics, she was even uglier and more mean-tempered -- Popeye could never do anything to make her happy. At least in the cartoons, the ending always had her laughing and in a good mood. In the comics, she was pissed off ALL of the time ... and yet Popeye still wanted her -- talk about a glutton for punishment!
