  • Go Contra or go home!

  • Where's the manly pose in the game scenes man??????? How can he...not?

  • Best music on the SNES. I love it when a composer puts a lot of effort into the percussion. I dig the electronic drums in this score!

  • Every single soundtracks I listen to are memories ><

  • Ah this game is my all time favourite!!! So sweet to see and hear again!!

  • Thanks for make me remember this is not only one of the best snes games also has an Awesome marvelous soundtrack!

  • Awesome classic!! Happy friggin' day's with my Snes!! lol

  • epic soundtrack ^_^ who agree's that video games live should do a orchestral medley of this soundtrack if video games live could do a orchestrated for the first contra game for the nes and arcade why not orchestrate contra III

  • One of the most incredible games ever made. Glad I still have my SNES.

  • the soundtrack to this game is absolutely epic & atmospheric no other game has come close esp considering this game is 20 years old!

  • Probably the best game soundtrack ever made. I love the progressive rock/metal feeling you get from it!

  • LETS ATTACK AGRESSIVELY

  • Kick-ass music from a kick-ass game!

  • contraaaaaaaaaaa ! the besttt!!

  • this is a really good game but contra hard corps was more my style.this game would have sounded even better with fat guitars weiling behind these orchetral techno kinda tracks.and that's why i chose hardcrops the music is raw meat,it's hardcore metal speed and explosion and not so hard at all, same for this one.

  • I guess I'm a retard. I never caught the Neo Kobe Steel Factory reference to Snatcher. Hell, the level boss looks like a huge version of a snatcher.

    I r dum.

  • You forgot to include No man's land and both the red falcon fights (the one with his armor and when you manage to beat him in hard mode only to face a revived brain digging up and trying to kill you with claws)

  • Beating this game = instant chesthair

  • 1.red falcon's revenge: title screen

    2. Point of entry: starting point select (top down stages)

    3. ground zero: stage 1

    4. neo kobe steel factory: stage 3

    5. no man's land: stage 5

    6. Final gauntlet 3: Stage 6

  • @Sonicdude303 Thanks, dude!

  • the music does remind me of arnold swartznegger's blockbuster movie BGM's

  • I still wonder why the Contra games were released as the Probotector series in Europe, with the two dudes replaced by robots. Can't have been a censorship issue, can it?

  • @elstormo

You are totally right, it was because of the censorship :(

Also Contra 4 on DS has this problem...

  • @Angelostar88 I don't see though, why turning the main characters into robots is a good move, censorship-wise...

  • At 5:30 predator 1 music !!!!!

  • This game is just win

  • AWESOME!

  • my favourite contra (probotector in my country)

  • Man, this game was so awesome. I wish they'd stop screwing around and release a next gen sidescrolling Contra game.

  • They did with Contra 4 on the DS.

  • Well yeah, and that game was awesome and all, but I was thinking console Contra.

  • A handheld is a console but for a home version. Yeah that sounds pretty awesome.

  • Also Contra Rebirth on the Wii.

  • @Camwi Doesn't Contra IV count? I thought it was great.

  • @Camwi Be sure to look for it, it should be coming out this coming february, its called Hard Corps: Uprising. its the official new entry from konami in the Contra series. It will be available for purchase on the PSN and Xbox Live Aracde

  • 5:28...music sounds a lot like from the movie Predator.

  • Yeah... I always think that too, but also believe that it was just my bizarre mind... Now I see that I'm not crazy... XD

  • Thats because it is.

  • I recognize an instrument that is also used in Mario Kart

  • 4:10 : That background reminds me of Rostok and Chernobyl from 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl'. XD Also reminds me of the oil refinery from 'Rolling Thunder 3'.

  • Anyone else ever imagined a movie about this game? Blond guy is obviously Arnold and black haired guy is Sylvester Stallone.

  • This game made me a man.

  • @BLARGHALT

the original contra - now THAT will make you a man.

  • @crucifiedchristian The original Contra is too easy. This one, however, was hell, especially on Hard mode.

  • @crucifiedchristian the original Contra, if you do mean the arcade one will make you a man in fact. A broke one. and following that the arcade version of Super C will sell your family to pay your debt to it.

  • @BLARGHALT I made my homosexual son play it with me to completion. He's now married with 3 children, and we were VERY pleased to learn that he recently cheated on his wife, WITH A WOMAN!

  • @BLARGHALT right on dude thats a winning formula they should stick with it!

  • the kick-ass music begins at 1.24

  • 'It's Time For Revenge', apparently

  • Espero el día que los alien nos invandan para tomar una de esas armas y luchar CONTRA ellos.

Venid putos aliens, aquí os espero!

  • whats the deal? it was with robots and called probotector,; but exactly the same

  • To get through some of the stringent UK censorship laws with video games at the time, the Contra games were released in the UK as Probotector. Rather than feature humans with guns dying in battle, the cast was replaced with robots. They still, however, are the same game, music and all.

They did this with both the NES Contra games and the SNES Contra III.

So yeah, this is the same game, just with a different cast depending on where you live.

  • Konami was always the master of NES and especially SNES music. This and Axelay are two of my favorites

  • i really need this on xbox live arcade

  • It sucks ass on Xbox Live Arcade. It isn't this one. It's some lame "beefed up" version of the first contra. They made it look gay because they didn't keep the classic sprites.

  • No, it's just the arcade version. The arcade version came before the NES port. Personally, I prefer it...

  • Super Contra on Arcade is also great. Soundtrack + orchestra rock = win.

  • damn that foo drop shot that guy at 3:00

  • This game kicks ass, yeah! stage3 music is my fav.

  • yeah it's a masterpiece

  • This is the Powerthirst of video games.

  • PAWNS EVERYTHING!

  • PLAYING IT ALL THE TIME!THE GAME!

  • BEST MUSIC & GAME-EVER & NEVER!

  • FINISHED THIS GAME THOUSAND OF TIMES!

  • first mission song is still awesome

  • It's so damn awesome! I'd like to hear an orchestrated version of it.

  • I played another version of it "Probotector" ^^ Memories!

  • Yup that's the version I played. Fooking classic game. I completed on Hard in two player with a buddy on mine, took AGES. One of my all time fave games.

  • Played it with my little bro, man we loved and still love that game XD

  • lol same here. One of the best shooters to this day.

  • I concur

I do think it's high time for Konami to bring the series back now to the consols

  • Let's Attack Aggressively!

  • haha that always made me chuckle.

  • LETS ATTACK SUPER AGGRESIVELY!

  • another childhood awesome game! and is in my wii even better!!!!!

  • progresive rock? nah

  • great music. Sounds like Progressive rock

  • double crush FTW!

  • all the themes in contra 3 sound like theyre taken from terminator & predator, with little changes

  • Comment removed

  • dang, i wish i had this. this music is amazing.

  • if you have a wii you can download it on the wii shop

  • This is my favorite Contra game other than the original. I love the music on this game, as well as the ability to have 2 different guns. I bought this from Funcoland back in 1997 and I still play it to this day.

  • I was more intrigued by the game play than the music.

  • I was intrigued by both, awesome game.

  • its almost impossible to think that any game can be harder than super c... well, here it is, right here...

  • You left out the music from the motorcycle level! D: That was the best track!

The stage complete theme made up for it though. Awesome vid.

  • 5:29= Intense!

  • 3;22 = Epic

  • Level 3 had the best music. :D i remember playing this every summer with my cousins. It was so much fun.

  • I never liked the levels like stage 2. I think it would've been better if it was more like stage 2 from the first game. I think this was the first time they used boss music in the series, which sounds really good & sinister.

  • The GREATEST video game soundtrack of all time!

  • lv3 rocks as hell

  • I really wish I knew where to download these songs. I need them for later in life when I'm older so I can reflect on the times I played this with my brother and my friends. Good times. You wouldn't happen to have a link where I could download these, do you?

  • Sure, watch the intro vid on my channel, it has a couple links in there. Enjoy man.

  • @Deathwarrantt

What I am doing to remember these amazing games and songs is buying and collecting all of the classic consoles. Nintendo 64, NES, SNES, Atari 2600, 5200, 7200, Sega, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, PlayStation 1, Magnavox Odessy 1 and 2. I also have way to many games for each one of these systems.

  • @Deathwarrantt download "Free Studio Manager" and it will allow you to take the audio from this video and turn it into an mp3 file.

  • @Deathwarrantt i think just about every snes game has been ripped. google snes music...there is a winamp plugin that will play the files

  • who ever this plays, hes better then me ! damn :D

  • my first game on snes..very nice
