I was just wondering, I also have a Samsung 55 inch LED HDTV (8000 series/model). Do you have any problems with an "auto dimming" feature? It happens when the whole display palette or whatnot reaches a certain overall black level, and then makes the screen a few shades darker, which is very annoying when watching certain things or playing many games. I found a way to fix it (kinda) and the picture looks absolutely awesome, but if I had known about the problem I wouldn't have bought the tv.

Samsung TV's are wonderfull! I have always loved Toshiba.. that was until i bought this LED. The colors are amazing and the blacks are BLACK! I love this TV and am very happy with my purchase!

dude i love these tv's income tax about to drop into my direct deposit and i am debating on this version or a 65' panasonic plasma viera now da samsung beats in picture quality but not by much and the size of da plasma is awesome would appreciate ur opinion and any other tech geeks please!!!

That really doesn't look like a 55inch. And i dont see why people get so crazy and talk about there being a huge difference between 8 series and 7 series. Everyone says its got a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio which is true. but i bet if you put the TV's right beside each other you wouldn't be able to tell any difference at all

for leds and lcds, high contrast ration makes big difference. That tv was sitting next to 50.000:1 Sony Bravia LCD at Fry's store and there was major difference.

it sounds like a big difference but it really isn't Did you know that there is a point when the human eye can't tell the difference between what looks better. I bet if you put a 7 series and 8 series side by side you would barely be able to tell any difference. That's why the 8 series only cost $300 dollars more than the 7 series, because there is barely any change between the two. Samsung banks on people not knowing any better lol and people fall into the trap.

people were saying the same thing when 1080p came on market. but eventually everyone noticed the difference.. contrast ratio is directly effecting black levels and if you ever own big size lcd before, you will understand what that means, maybe eye may not notice between 2,000,000:1 vs 5,000,000:1 but jumping from 50,000:1 from a LCD, difference will be apparent.

im going to tell ya that at the first glance u dont c too much difference between series 7 and 8 but after a while that u ve been using the 8 .... its like whoa the color its so much deeper plus i dont know for some reason some tv series look like its on 3d :D even though i havent use the gadgets cuz samsung wireless adapter its such a rip off
