Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse -- Stage 6, Grant (1/2)

This stage is by far the hardest in the game imo.

I'm playing through this game for the first time, and this stage is proving to be an absolute nightmare. I'm now at the point where I can make it to the flooding portion about half the time, but jeez . . . it's so hard. But, like you said, the music is good; I was glad to hear this again after having heard it in Circle of the Moon.

The way this stage floods after the mid-boss...It looks like you were already prepared for it. Are you able to move to the highest platform, or are you screwed if you're not at the right spot in time?

Disregard this question if it turns out you did move, because my dazed state of mind being ultra-sleepy leads me to remember as though Grant never moved from his spot.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly when it happens, but somewhere along the line where the boss decides to leave the screen, your character will jump to the upper platform where they wait for the flooding to finish...although for some reason, it seems I tend to end up standing on that particular platform anyway.

So I guess it's inevitable and entirely scripted, even if it doesn't seem likely that could be the case. I myself have wondered about it more than I can reasonably justify.
