Nearly all the gold I've run across has been flour gold. Never used a drywasher, but can't see it working. I sure know that you can't pan flour. I need to build/invest in a blue bowl.
Hello BOB Have you ever ran dry sandy river type material through your dry washer. I have a good spot north of Phoenix about 100 miles. I was thinking of buying a dry washer to work the area. And was wondering if running this type of material is just as fast as the dirt type dusty material. What do you think your recovery % is on fine gold. Thanks BOB Good luck finding that yellow gold!!!
You know it maybe be 50 cents worth but it's his not yours.LOL It not on how much you find all the time it having a nice time enjoying what he's doing. You people an your negative comments. Good job BOB I drive about 100 sometimes just to take the kids panning and bring a little dirt home. Have a great day Bob and thanks for the video. Brad
Looks like fun. I like shoveling for some reason. Maybe because shoveling snow for my grandmother was one of the first jobs I ever had that I got paid for.
Nothing better than being happy with what your doing :) Nice video, I always enjoy learning and sharing,
I used to live in Colorado and I always took to the mountains and I looked for my gold in the culverts, Its a endless job but it can pay off and point you in the right direction for more if you dont mind taking chances, Carry some scraps of carpet and learn to set them in crucial places on the side of the roads, Take all you can get and put out all you have time to put out,,,
I want to thank you for showing me this valuable lesson vedeo ! It has made me great progress leaving my wife at home sitting infront of the TV as always.

Looks fun...I haven't done any prospecting before but I think that's what I am going to plan as my next vacation. I have been able to learn a lot about dredging and sluicing a river just by watching video clips. Isn't it harder to pinpoint a good spot to prospect in the desert? How do you select a spot with some realistic chance of getting color? Do you belong to a club or is it private land?
O how I wish I had a dry washer. There just so darn expensive!

@tubofbologna gold is gold what is that .50 in your pocket? Compare that to .50 of gold.
no comparison you are comparing apples to oranges.
NaturalGroundation 11 months ago
@tubofbologna @tubofbologna na that's a least a few dollars worth. Just think, 1 graham is about 50$ so he's got at least 50 mg there. 50 mg = 2.50$

thanks for the tip.....when the tray is flatter, material seems to pile up...but i will try your suggestion. more gold is good. thanks
desertprospector 4 years ago 2
Slower feed rate on a flatter angle WILL equal a lot more recovered gold. And, as a bonus, less effort involved....just a lot more patience LOL
