@KaguraBecameTheWind Someone did a head count of the UTAU last year and at least 800 of them had been made. Most are crap quality though and not famous. When you consider theres about 5,000 UTAU Prodicers in Japan and about 40,000 Vocaloid producers...

@KritaYuga The entire CV series, thts Miku, Len, Rin and Luka, were not meant to be realisitc at all. Their chracteristic vocals not realisitc, though that is a strength in their case not a weakness since it made their vocals flexiable. If you want realism your looking at most Internet co and Ah-soft or Bplats.

nguh... I like the Vocaloids but every time they try and make them do English it's so hard to understand what they're saying if at all... I really hope they put more effort in to developing their English data banks because with what they're at right now i really can't listen to an attempted English song. The whole time i'm struggling to listen to the lyrics and don't enjoy the song at all.

@OsuOsayu Vocaloids have the capability of singing clearer if the song creators edit their perimeters. But even japanese vocaloids aren't perfectly clear, that's why most(if not all) vocaloid PVs have the lyrics on them. :3

Nah. Well, I am from the south but I'm just glad to see I have a comrade in arms when it comes to the whole British/English thing. People just seem to use British as synonymous with the kind of upper cut Patrick Stewart/Benedict Cumberbatch/Stephen Fry accent and ignore all the other variants of accents within Britain. We don't all talk like that!

My issue is also "Cockney" is the most famous London accent, however, traditionally 4-8 accents existed within London. London itself is made up of numerous interconencting towns and villages that grew and merged with time. And even today, some of those villages still have their own identity within London. :-/

Heck, Some don't even realise "pirate talk" is also a british accent ("west country" in fact).

@GamerGirlDaph Well, a Vocaloid's performance depends almost entirely on the user so you should keep an open mind. I will admit though that Engloid users are pretty rare at the moment so it might be a bit harder to find nice Engloid usage (compared to Japanese Vocaloids, at least). Anyhoo, this Oliver demo has a thick filter which makes him sound unclear and less natural (in my opinion.) I recommend trying out his other demos (if you already haven't) before making a final judgement.

I've got a quick question that anyone can answer. I want to get Oliver, and I know that he comes with the Lite version of the editor. Do you necessarily have to purchase the full version of Vocaloid Editor from Yamaha in order to use Oliver? He'd be my first vocaloid so I'm not 100% sure on all that. Many thanks :)
