Excellent modeling, but the walk cycle is a little weak. try using longer strides and incorporate some toe/ankle movements. I did something similair with 3DS max and have a video on my page. Its just a bunch of stuff i threw together so if u want to skip to the run cycle of the mech i think its at about 1:30
i am trying my best to animate a walking robot character in 3DS Max. i want it to be rigid with no bending parts. can you tell me how to do that? or any links to good tutorials thanks.
It's supposed to be heavy. Mad Cats are usually about 85 tons if I recall correctly. I wanted a bit faster than a walk but not a full out run like they are capable of. I agree, my walk cycle isn't the best. In the final version I did some more tweaks but nothing stellar. The torso twists a bit with each steps but not enough.
I may go back and fix it. Or I may model a whole new mech, probably a Mad Dog/Vulture
it does look like it's wearing skis

What program did you use? 3dsmax or maya?
ALSO how did you make him walk? did you rig the mech or move the limbs manually?

It doesn't seem that heavy. The mech bobs very lightly when walking. Is it supposed to come of as heavy or light?
