@AlwaysCool5000 - Bowser666 is correct. This is the first basic Chin Na technique we teach beginner students and if you'll notice he starts off with defending against a punch by intercepting and grabbing the attacker's wrist, a more advanced technique which would then flow into a different controlling technique. This just demonstrates on method of wrist chin na. Not to doubt your considerable skills, but having been a demo partner for Dr. Yang I can tell you there is no escaping his technique.
you could just do an outward circle to relaease the grip , that's what i do . but no one ever grabs my wrist . i've never come across some guy in the parking lot that is drunk and pissed off grabbing my wrist like - "come on man we got to go this way".usually they want to punch you in the face right? or slam you? grabbing someone's wrist is something you do when your kid doesn't behave in the supermarket .
@AlwaysCool5000 You are missing the ponit, it is a complete system and teaches defense against grabs, holds, chokes etc... There are hundreds of technques, this is just one of them.
@AlwaysCool5000 have met one or two junkies that grab my grab my wrist and go "please, lend me some money, I'm asking you nicely" as if I had to. Usually the wrist grabbing is not during the fight and the point of this lock is to prevent it from even starting.
I have the book.I did not know a dvd was available.Excelent!
