I love my new intel core i7 2820 quad its a mobile processing beast

2.3Ghz and 3.4Ghz with Turbo boost so far I've opened 7 applications at one time and it's still not even phased and the AMD Radeon 2GB 6870 graphics card I got to go along with it is flawless as well man Ive love my laptop.

Core I series are such beat in performance. My Core i7 720QM matches and even at times beats a Core 2 Q6600 2.4ghz and it's a whooping 800mhz slower when all 4 cores are running @ 1.6ghz

my friend has a intel pentium 2.00 ghz (2 cpus)and i have intel i3 2.13 ghz (2 cpus)

is the intel i3 faster cuz i have almost all the specs he has mut my laptop it much more unresponsive espically on startups

so rong thare is no turbo boost on the mobile. wich makes it no better then a core 2 duo. i no i have a core 2 duo that runs a litter better.

my i3 that i just ordered is 2.4GHz

but the i5 is ALSO 2.4GHz + turbo boosting

i decided that this is pretty much the same thing and saved the extra $200 and i went for the i3 since i dont think the i5 will make much more of a difference.

What do u guys think?

Sandy Bridge Core I series will offer anywhere between a 15 to 20% improvement over the last Gen and support higher speed DDR3. Not to mention the on-chip GPU will have a dramatic increase in GPU performance over the last gen The second gen Core I series will be labeled by the number 2 suffix indicating the second Gen for the Core I series. For Example Core i5 2520m, Rather he should wait or not is up to him. If he can get a really good deal on one now then I'd buy one now

that i3 isnt so bad. 2 cores and 4 threads. Damn good dual core. And dual core is pretty much all you need for gaming, well a fast one. And with an i3 its cheap and as is the mobo for it.

@djpoontangy threads and cores are different things, despite the fact that they are both in the same physial body.o threads are virtual cores and intel i3 has 2 cores and 2 threads. cores use threads to process. like intel core i5, it's core can do 2 processes at a time, which means it has 2 threads per core. It makes it a 2 core 4 thread processor. 2 virtual cores and 2 physical cores doesnt make it 4 threads. 2 cores that works as 4 virtual cores is 4 threads, it
