@abbyfortheskew There was a huge wave of Norwegian immigrants to USA in the 1820's-1930's back when Norway was one of the poorest countries in the world. They went to USA since they haned out free land to the farmers in hope for a new start and a better life. Many Norwegian communites were created and "Ogdenville" wich the town is named in "The Simpsons" is one of them. Today there are several million American with Norwegian heritage.

@antwankakki Norwegians do come to the US yes, but that is mostly students going to study for a couple of years and then return home. but there are 4.5 million ppl in the US with a Norwegian background but those families wandered into US when Norway was really poor a couple of hundred years back. And Norway has better living standards, a lot of space compared to the population, and the oil keeps on bringing ze moneys
