I have been active for 13 years, I am a commissioned infantry officer who has been on the ground in Baghdad, Abu Ghraib, and elsewhere. I still would rather see a dog do the dirty work then a soldier.

It goes without saying, though, that liberals are more prone to focus on humanitarian issues like animal cruelty and the horrors of war than conservatives are. The other ugly truth that played into my assumption is that the society we live in today is largely a two-party one. @patientzero532 I do feel sorry for the troops, don't get me wrong. I'm an 8 year military veteran myself. I'm not putting this out there to create hatred for these guys. I'm trying to show you what the military system does to these young men and women. They create monsters. And then, when these f'd up troops come home, they are treated like shit by the very forces that sent them there. It's a totally messed up situation...and no one wins!
