    #NawMean :P

  • Thank you so much this helped me make varsity as a freshman

  • sweet ima cathcher and i love these drills

  • Im playing varsity but the coach said I need to know how to blokck but ima excrllent picker

  • Hey I was wondering how you can stop the ball off to one side without having the ball hit your arm.

  • @myfriendsapickle96 sit back and have your arm in the bend of your groin.. see my video on how to block. im coached by Triple A players/ Marines that go to pro camps to learn how to teach the correct way of baseball

  • very good drills. ive been a catcher for years and still like to remind my self of the basics. I have been searching the internet for some protective gear and have not found any. Have you seen anything to protect your biceps from taking balls off them? i have some wicked bruises from blocking them on both my arms.

  • The hockey goalie is a fun drill. I play varsity high school baseball and our coach tried it one time. One of the most fun practices I've had.

  • I actually just started to catch yesterday. I'm normally a third basemen, but as we were warming up, my coach put my on catcher, and I have a game today. Any good tips for a beginning catcher?

  • TO ANYONE OUT THERE.... IM A VARSITY CATCHER IN NY. Im an all around good catcher I'd say pretty decent im not super strong but quick whatever. Right now I have 10 throw outs at second in 8 games. But for blocking Im keeping it in front of me for the most part but IM GETTING ALOT OF GLOVE ON IT INSTEAD OF MY CHEST BEATING IT INTO THE DIRT. ITS A HABIT ANY SUGGESTIONS? Please

  • @DrumminFool7 They teach you to keep your hand behind your thigh when the pitch is thrown. If the balls in the dirt throw your glove behind your thigh to try and resist the urge.

  • funny how the catcher holds his hand wrong

  • @bozzobuddies Yeah yeah I saw that hes going to get it hard one day :D watch the pitcher throw like a 4 steam fast ball and it hits him in the hand..... Broken hand lol

  • @jt9t9 i know u would think he would no how to hold his hand but wat ever still hockey drils insain i tried it its tiering

  • hockey drill is insane i think i could do that

  • What Kind of glove is the catcher using? I'm assuming it's a Louisville (cause of the buckets; possibly sponsors) and i think you can read "TPX" on there. i just want to know. and also maybe what size it is.. What is the ideal size for a catcher's glove at the high school varsity leveL?

  • im a catcher and reach about the college distance and only 11 and not slow hard and strait

  • For dropping the ball when receivingfrom the pitcher when someones stealing, be smooth. A problem people and i sometimes have is i try to rush and rushing causes many problems. And for off target throws make sure your getting your full body turned and arm upand stay overtop of the ball.

  • this is a great drill, im going into 9th grade, been catching since 4th grade, and now I believe I'm a better catcher due to this drill. Thank you!

  • Nice Drill well explained

  • I made my school team doing these drills as a sixth grader

  • @bbnoreaster15 Congratulations! Keep working hard!

  • @bbnoreaster15 i could'nt play in sixth grade even in gym class me and my friends were too good aperently so we did'nt play school legue until high school and now we need to face team canada. and congrats keep working hard kid. cathcer high school varsity team

  • im a cacher and i have a good arm but everytime some1 steals i either bobble the ball or throw off target is there anything that can help

  • @KingCobra887

I try to answer all of these questions on my message board, please join. Thanks!

  • @KingCobra887 maybe try catchin the ball before u actually throw it

  • @KingCobra887 work on your transfer. i have this problem sometimes because i don't actually reach into my glove i try to almost toss the ball from my glove to my hand.

  • @KingCobra887 i do the same just practise with someone before games and practises and work hard stepinto the throw and keep a good grip onthe ball. if you play on a school team ask the coach to start the team in september to get more practise hope this helps. catcher high school varsity team

  • @KingCobra887 what id do is make sure to get your hand in the glove and dont try to throw it from your glove to your hand thats what most people do and another thing is when your throwing make sure your foot is lined up with the back of the plate or you have to throw open or across your body

  • my little brother catches and when the ball comes in to block he shyes away from it and turns his head how can me and my dad get him to stop that?

  • @sanitarium796 This is a very good question, if you post it on my message board I'll be happy to answer and get a discussion going. I get asked the same questions A LOT and it would help out if all of these were on the message board for other people to reference too! Thanks!

  • @sanitarium796 lol do what my dad did the hard ass he chucked a baseball at my neak now i never turn my head give him encoragement not to turn his head but if he continues i might sound crazy but wait until he get's hit one day and he'll relize not to turn is head umpys also help with this in games

  • @sanitarium796 just get him to learn that his chest protector will protect him so dont be afraid of it

  • @sanitarium796 Hey there. I am currently a catcher in high school and up until my sophomore year, i was "afraid" of the ball when blocking. When i was younger, i would turn by body so much that i would get hit in the SIDE on a ball directly in front of me. It was becoming very frustrating. As a sophomore, armed with new catching equipment(All-Star) i finally got myself to "just do it". Once i realized it doesnt hurt and gives a good adrenaline rush, well, the rest is history as they say :)

  • Awesome catcher!

  • i just want to know in your guys opinion what would u guys prefer a catching helmet or a facemask

  • are there any drills you can do by yourself

  • @zeopiz

You can always go through your mechanics by yourself. As far as drills though, you will probably need a partner, coach, teammate, brother, etc. to throw balls to you!

  • an all-star 3000 is a very good glove and easy to break in

  • @spaceballs56 yea but is that glove like $30? yea probably...

  • @xTAYWESx i paid 3 hundred on my allstar 3000

  • @spaceballs56 send me a link plz

  • Mizuno ftw

  • just wanted to say that i love to watch you videos and they have really taught me alot. But in your opinion what would be a good catchers mitt for a high school player. If you could just give me a list of the gloves and the sizes, i would be very thankful.

  • @foureyes0000 wilson a2k pudge series very good glove takes long to break in but its worth it.

  • i am starting to do the drills for all the catcher 101 drills for a tryout

  • Nice Video. I am currently working with a High School Jr. Catcher who is a wonderful hitter, but really needs to work on his blocking ability. Thanks!
