Making a silencer model - Part 2 (low-poly model/uvmap)

I am having difficulty getting the stitch to work - whenever I press it, it seems to link up (messily) to other edges? Have I forgotten something?

I have been looking for a tutorial covering some issues I have been having with a model I had imported and programmed into Fallout New Vegas - So far, your videos have been some of the best I have seen with covering modeling, rendering and texturing. Thanks a bunch!
